I had CEL on about 60k miles ago. I ran the car with the light on for a few months and just before the emission test I replaced both NOX sensors and the diesel particle matter sensor. All was fine after that.

The code 2BC100 Sensor Can Bus: Control Unit has Switch Off is now on and BimmerLink is not able to clear the code. Because the the control unit is shut off I have 16 additional codes that are listed. Also, my mileage has dropped from 44 to 40mpg.

I'd like to check the module plug for corrosion or ??? Where is this unit located?

Does anyone have any insight to what the problem might be?

I found the source causing the error code.

The PM sensor four pin plug, on the car side, had two pins that rotted away from water corrosion. The pins were green and fell apart.

I purchased new pins and plug from the local dealer, re-terminated the plug, and all codes went away.
