HELP engine EXPLODED

Since BMW is gonna charge me $25k to get another engine, I've been considering an engine swap. Has anyone swapped out an n20/n26 motor yet? So far the motors I've been considering are the n54, v8 m3 motor, or an ls1. Would definitely appreciate some recommendations on which of the motors to use and any shops that may be willing to perform an motor swap.

Why would they charge you if your car is 2013? It should have a warranty.

I understand that you have JB4 installed. Is it the cause of your engine failure? If so, that's alarming because many on this forum have it installed on their cars, including me.

There is no way an n20 cost 25k....

About 15K $ Listprice. Plus Labor. So you won't be far from 25K for the whole replacement.

Go with a b16 engine swap. This way when you blow the engine again, it won't be as expensive to replace.

Did BMW bust you for having a JB tune? Please let us know... I just ordered one.... If they busted you, I'd like to know what they did to find out. Your profile shows a 2014 328xi so I mean unless you were busted for doing something above and beyond what the warranty covers, something is wrong with this picture...

This is obviously a joke.... there is no chance an engine can "Blow up" especially in a 328i with just a stage 1 tune installed no matter how hard you push it... I just got my stage 1 installed this past week on my 14' 328i M sport... Here is a link to my post and review on BimmerPost.

I was driving home and then got a drive train malfunction warning on the car so I started to pull over to the side of the road. As I was pulling over there was a loud bang. Next thing I know it feels like I was dragging something SUPER heavy. Once I made it to the side of the road the car then completely shut off and died. I did have a jb4 on the car and before I took it to the dealer I had gotten it taken off. The only thing BMW told me was that the software was tampered with so they weren't going to cover the cost of the engine. Tried to get more info from BMW but they wouldn't tell me anything else.

They said the "software" had been tampered with. One of the main reasons why I bought the JB4 was that you could take it off when you take the car back to the dealer and your warranty would be ok...
