WTB: Dinan D440-1633-ST1 (for N26 engine)

Item Interest
Hey guys, I'm looking for a Dinan DINANTRONICS Performance Tuner Stage 1 to be used on my 2015 BMW 428i.

The official part number is D440-1633-ST1

Just to clarify, I'm in San Francisco Bay area and I need the version for the N26 engine (SULEV) version because the car was originally built to conform to California's stricter air quality regs (means it's lower power than the N20 version - yeah me )

Please send me a PM if you are looking to sell yours.

Thanks - Corey

FYI, I've been using the N20 version on my N26 without any problems.

Cool - didn't know that - appreciate it bmrguy03. I'll have to keep an eye out for that version as well. I think it is the D440-1632-ST1 part number.

No problem. Btw, I've had it on my car for about 30k miles already. The N26 version is extremely hard to come by and to me retail is just way too much. Although I do like the extra pickup. I recommend you stay with the stock air filter however because my experience is the car tends to hesitate whenever I replaced the filter with a drop in or replaced the whole filter.

bmwchue & Diirek,

Appreciate the thoughts. Honestly, I've got a ton going on between work, family, and houses right now so was looking at the Dinan for instant gratification. Buy it, install it, and enjoy.

I was afraid with BM3 or JB4, in either case, I would have to study and learn the system, install it, and then tune for my specific car.

I just don't have the much time right now to do that much work - installation is about all the time I can dedicate without causing issues with work or the wife...

I assume you've never had either system...but they are both plug and play.

No learning...no specific tuning...just install and use one of the "already" programmed maps that have been specifically tuned for your car model already.

pimp4cheddar - do you have one you recommend and/or prefer over the other? Are you personally running one of the three options? Thanks!

Honestly man...

I've had an N54 with a Burger Tuning JB3.

I've had an N55 with a Burger Tuning JB4.

I now have a B58 with a Burger Tuning JB4 lol.

I haven't had issues with any tune at all...

Burger Tuning is really active and supportive on these platforms. Very trusted and respected and I'd bet they've outsold every other tuner 10 to 1...

I can't speak on the other tuners...but I will say based on my history of ownership and BMW's - I personally trust Burger Tuning and the community is very helpful for anything "question" related. They've have millions of miles of usage and records.

If there are issues, questions, concerns, etc the community is more than willing to jump in - especially on n54tech. Also - I believe Burger Tuning is extremely involved on that forum as well and willing to answer all questions personally.

The ability to upload the logs is helpful when asking and looking for support too.

I'm not affiliated with anyone at all...just a normal consumer, but I've been on these forums long enough to know when something works. Some people go "custom" tune...others go with tunes that are preset, to each their own. I like to keep it simple.
