Can I remove Cross Brace??? [PIC]
I installed an ER FMIC this past weekend. Is this cross brace right in front of the intercooler necessary? I already cut the ends down because it was in the way of the fog light mounts on M3 bumper. It looks horrid with the M3 front bumper and FMIC. Does it provide any actual stability or chassis support??? Thanks.

I dont know for sure, but I don't think the engineers at BMW would have added that crossbar just for the hell of it.

This crossbar saved my bumper when a lady hit my front end on a parking lot, I ended up replacing 2 plastic grills only. It adds support to the bumper in case of front impact or fast driving. In your case it only protects the intercooler from low impact as the bumper doesn't match. It doesn't add rigidity to the chasis.

it's crash protection. not the end of the world without it but you risk getting a lot more damage if you're ever hit in the front end. a lot of people take that risk and cut into it to run larger intercoolers.
