Rebuilding my flooded N55
tldr; im rebuilding my n55, any tips and what would you guys recommend for best parts? what are best track upgrades?
I have a 2014 435x with some water damage. I drove it through some deep water and sucked in some water. insurance said there was no water damage without ever looking further than the engine bay and I had to pay bmw to inspect it and was quoted a new engine, then insurance wrote the car off and I bought it back from auction (4300cad(crazy ik)). the bmw inspection showed 2 or 3 cylinders had low compression and was told it likely had bent connecting rods. i had to start it a few times and it actually runs pretty normal aside from a bit of a rougher than normal start and there are no check engine lights. i am planning on using upgraded rods and pistons and extra oil tolerance rod bearings, arp head studs and MAYBE a closed deck conversion. I also plan on doing the mosselman oil thermostat upgrade and all the smaller 'might as well with the engine out' upgrades but is there anything in particular I should do? as well what specific parts do you guys recommend is best? any tips? looking to make about 550-600 hp but I am unsure if the trans can hold that and what upgrades I should make to the trans? I plan on keeping this car forever(it was my first) but wanna take it to the track next year (Canada so it becomes a skating rink after oct) but what other mods would you guys recommend as I have lots of time to work? thank you Last edited by rishisund; 10-15-2024 at 01:31 AM..
