F30 335 Valvetronic Designs Custom Exhaust System

F30 335 owners rejoice! A valvetronic exhaust system is in the works and should be ready soon to order! Valvetronic designs has made a custom exhaust for E9X M3's and it sounds absolutely amazing. They also make a universal kit that would work really well on N20/26's. Will keep this post updated once I get mine

Guess not, the unit appears to be the same but the stock one is on the left side.

$799. And there's gonna be actually two options; race and street. The street one will have the valve and muffler while the race version will just straight piped, I think similar to VRSF's offering. I'm definitely more interested in the street version, would love to be catless and be loud as hell whenever I want but also be able to start my car in the morning with the valve closed without waking up the whole neighborhood.

I hear ya man. I would love a straight pipe set up and contemplate the vr setup. But with a wife, 4 year old and another baby on the way a valve set up would be more ideal for sure. 599 ain't bad honestly.

beware of going full straight pipe with catless dp when the valve is open. I hate to say it but it sounded really bad; drew all kinds of attention for all of the wrong reasons. My afe exhaust is similar to this and I ended up putting an extra large resonator on the midpipe because it was so bad. Now the straight pipe sounds good and the muffler is a little too quiet but I couldn't see a better solution without going back to a catted dp

Just confirmed it will connect to the DME and be able to be controlled via the Bimmerlink app. So it will close in comfort!

The first pic looks like it utilizes the stock valve. The second pic is of their universal vacuum controlled kit. I would be curious to try the n55 specific exhaust kit. I would probably utilize my Armytrix quad tips.

It only looks like it doesn't use the stock valve control system because they have placed it on the opposite side of the car. That's nothing extensions for the connector wire and vacuum line can't solve.

Stock system doesnt use a vacuum line. Look at first pic. The valve is on the driver side just like stock. The mount even looks the same.

Oh thought it used vacuum too. Still, the first photo is flipped because the midpipe is supposed to be on the passenger side under the vehicle, at least on my 335. All the exhausts that fit have longer piping on the drivers side because they need to line their inlets with the midpipe.

I do see that now. Thats interesting.

I would be willing to try this system with my catless down pipe. I would probably either buy or get a custom midpipe with no resonator and then add this axle section to that so I can control my Valve. I have th Armytrix valve system now, but wouldnt mind trying something else out that could be louder. I would still try to utilize a quad tip setup as well.

Yeah sorry about the confusion with the flipped pics, but it's on the left and will utilize the stock connection. I'm going catless very soon and will have this exhaust hopefully shortly after; not sure if I want to delete the resonator or not yet, guess i'll have to wait and see.

Any price indication? Its an axle back only, correct?

Srsly a full turbo-back for our cars does not sound good. I have CTS turbo catless downpipe and afe axleback exhaust that is a very nearly identical concept to this that uses the factory valve actuator: https://afepower.com/afe-power-49-36...exhaust-system

The noise was absolutely unbearable. Not volume, but noise. It was borderline embarrassing to drive around my luxury 2 door coupe. After putting a vibrant 1142 ultra quiet resonator in (which is way bigger than the OEM bullet style) it cleaned it right up.

I'm only repeating this to help others not waste money on repeated shop visits when they can't take it anymore like me

Edit: I had also gone to the shop to cut out OEM resonator before I removed stock cat. As soon as the cat was removed from the equation was when it became night and day terrible

So you had catless downpipe, no resonator on the mid pipe, and the afe axle back? This with the valve open sounded bad? What about with the valve closed?

So if i were to get the race version of this exhaust, it might make sense to get a midpipe with a resonator on it.

Id be interested in a street version. It will hook up just like oem with the valve etc?

Id love an exhaust that with the valve closed it goes through a muffler and then with it open its straight through on that side.
