2013 BMW 328i Xdrive Transmission Swap

So i'm in desperate need of some help as i'm new to the world of BMW's. My stock transmission and transfer case got damaged in a wreck and I just recently swapped them out. I finally got everything back together today and went to run the transmission through the gears to get the fluid moving and it would not come out of park. I checked the fluid levels thinking it might have a safety feature that stops it from going into gear when low. When I checked it, it was about a quart low so I thought that might be the issue however after filling it up, it still would not shift out of park.

For anyone that has done this or knows more about these 8 speed transmissions, do I need to have the new transmission relearned in order for it to work with it or is there another issue that I'm missing?

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!

2014 BMW 328i  [6.83]
Couple things that come to mind...

Have you checked that the Emergency Neutral screw is all the way out/not screwed in?

Also, I would imagine there is programming to be done to marry a new transmission to the car.

Im sure someone here has a definitive answer on here.

Yes, the neutral safety screw is all the way out and not touching the arm.

My chassis stabilization light is now on following the transmission swap so I’m assuming something isn’t reading right but I didn’t know if there was a quick reset or anything I can do without a BMW scan tool.

I figured it out for anyone that has this issue down the road.. BMW has an anti theft feature inside the tranny on the mechatronics and therefore you have to do a full valve body swap or at least swap the mechatronics over in order to ever get a used transmission to work in your vehicle.

Were you successful in completing the swap when you put back the old mechatronics unit into the newer transmission?
