Eco tuned gearbox tuning and FWD

Mrs 225 Ateca was great, 2.0tsi petrol 190bhp and 4 drive. We chopped it in however to get the money due to 2nd hand market and so leased a new Ateca but thought dropping to the 150bhp front-wheel drive would be fine as Mrs 225 is no speed demon.

However the gearbox coding on these new ones is so eco minded it slots into 4th going round roundabouts so as you accelerate it then changes down sometimes into 2nd. The 1.5tsi which all the journos rave about is so boosty it then kicks in and flairs the revs and now it's getting greasy roads some times wheel spins.
Same when pulling away as so used to 4 wheel drive cars now fwd with a boost turbo is a pain!

Mrs 225 even commented on how sluggish it feels and only really drives properly in sport mode. Such a shame and a FYI for anyone getting a VAG product with FWD and the 1.5tsi...

You're aware that a throttle isn't a binary switch?

So what you get is instant and perfectly metered torque as and when you demand it.

Is there a sport mode? It may hold onto the gears a bit more like you would expect.
