Tyre recommendation
Hello guys, I have a f30 320d luxury line (2013) and wanted to swap my run flats to conventional tyres. Currently all 4 tyres are 225/45/r18. Are these bmw standard factory sizes or the previous owner had them modified? Is it useful in having different front and rear sizes? I want a comfortable and a quiet ride so what would you guys suggest? Many Thanks.

225/45R18 is what my car came with from factory. u can check your tire sizes when you open the drivers door you will see a white and yellow label on the sil kinda near the lock catch.. but more then likely these are oem size for you. I would stick with non runflat tires,, Michelin are the best of the best. I'm running pilot all season 4s and have no complaints. I would also recommend continental extreme contact dws06 plus, but I haven't had a chance to use them personally. any non runflat tire will be worlds of difference in noise and comfort and price compared to a run flat tire

Thank you both, I am getting a good deal with Bridgestone Turanza T005 (225/45 R18 95Y) XL. They are $250 cheaper than Michelins due to an offer going on if I buy all 4 of them. What do you think of those?

I have new Nexen N'fera Sport summer tyres, 235/45 r18 (10mm wider than stock) on all 4 wheels, and for now they feel and perform great, both on dry and wet. Great value for money, but if you are not limited with money i gues some Continental PC6 or Michellin PS4 would be somewhat better.

is this a runflat tire or non runflat? summer or all season? speed rating? all things to consider when buying tires. I would recommend checking tirerack.com they have alot of reviews and stats for all brand of tires and good prices. you can also see the rebates they offer for each brand too

Buy a CAA membership and toss or sale the run-flat rubbers. You can't expect any good performance from a runner in safety boots.

I have managed to fit Bridgestone turanza t005 225 45 r18 95Y XL non run flat and the ride is amazing, so much smoother and quieter than my older continental run flats. Cabin noise has reduced from 70db to 66db on motorways at 70mph and from 65 to 60db at 50mph. Thank you all for all the inputs.
