Question Fan noise from behind dash?

Guys I have a fan noise that goes with the Rev range sounding behind my dash in the middle any ideas? I can stop it by turning off my a/c which currently isn’t running due to outside temps of 2C so it’s not a/c related

Help pls

Thanks

No mate totally independent from the heater fan. Fan noise goes up and down with the revs

No, what I meant: If you have the A/C off and just the fan on and play little with the speed...then anything to hear from the frequency of the noise?
I ask because sometimes the fan soaks some foreign objects against the grilles under the bonnet and sometimes those objects made it through until their get ripped to shreds...but until this finally happens, they're making disturbing noises.

Thanks for that but I have already removed all the rubbish from there. The noise is not linked to the heater fan unit.

How old is your car? Maybe the blowby heater itself with a beginning electric motor failure?

Hi @F30Zoom did you manage to get to the bottom this problem? I have exactly the same issue in my 2012 F31 330d. Thanks.

I had the A/C serviced and re-gassed as it was empty this reduced the noise by about 75% but not completely, it was linked to the A/C because if you turned mine off it stopped. Previous owner had been running it empty for sometime.

Hope that helps not a complete fix but good enough.

Rgds

whirring noise

Guys has anyone seen this as the culprit to the noise? think the engine is petrol but could still have the same issues on diesels too.
This is from BMW America.
