B58 Catted Downpipe
Are there noticeable differences from each brand? I’m looking for a less expensive one that is good quality. Currently have been eyeing VSRF for $300 and MAD for $400. Can anyone recommend a good one for the price? Looking to pick one up on sale for Black Friday.

Quality-wise - yes, there are appreciable differences.
Performance-wise - not necessarily, but only good-quality ones will not throw CEL.

I had the VSRF on my 340. It was the 5" CAT version. It sounds boomy (as in really bad). The dash would vibrate when climbing hills under load. Having the rear doors open during the cold start was deafening in the cabin. It threw the CEL every day.
Fitment was really bad (they fixed that apparently) so I returned it and exchanged it for the Evolution Raceworks version. That was a million times better in fitment and exhaust note. Cannot comment on the MAD version, but personally, I'd try that over VSRF from my past experiences. |

I have the MAD, it’s very good except fitment to the stock midpipe was extremely difficult. I brought it up on the forums here and that was apparently something of an outlier. Sound is good, although I do have Remus axleback which is already good sounding, so I couldn’t say for sure how much better the tone is with a stock muffler. I think I got for low-mid $300s on x-ph.com for Black Friday last year.

I've given positive reviews for the CG precision ds1 catted down pipe. It sounds really good which is what matters most. Stock exhaust. Fitment was A1. I've never had a CEL but you can find some one who has, same for the other makes.
I also have the evolution race works catless for off-road use, and the fitment wasn't so hot. I had to really shove the exhaust forward. And there was some weird grinding noise against the subframe when turning left I have to look at next time it's back on. It's too fun to get rid of. After swapping it four times it only takes about 10 minutes. |

if the CEL is a concern, get the active autowerke with the no CEL guarantee
if thats not a concern, the MAD is the best value option
