Hi all

Picking up an issue when driving, as I accelerate the car seems to be jerking or slipping of some sort. However, if I engage the manual gears and accelerate then this doesn't happen.

Any ideas?

When you say Jerking and slipping, do you mean the car will rev up like the car is in neutral? That would indicate a transmission issue. How many miles on the car? Leaking fluid? Scan the car for the trouble codes. If you don't have any scan tools, have a local garage help you out.

Its fairly normal if the car is "cold" (i.e. has sat for like 8+ hours) for the ZF to slip in order to warm up the internals. Its a common topic of discussion.

Happens even after warm up. (well into a 3 hour drive also)
No leaks detected
Doesn't rev up at all. just jerks along

Have you identified the cause of this issue, as I’m experiencing the same problem? The engine doesn’t rev as it should when in neutral. However, when I transition from manual to automatic after stopping and then accelerate, it seems to slip into second gear. Other gears function correctly.
