Sibling BMW Coupes Compared: F32 4 Series Concept vs F13 6 Series

COMMENTS

Many are calling the just revealed F32 4 Series Coupe Concept a baby 6 Series coupe, an understandable comparison given the coupe's new sleek low-slung and rear fastback shaped look. Some of you have requested a comparo, so here's a look at how the two coupes compare visually and specs-wise.

As with the other comparison threads, keep in mind that we are comparing a concept against a production model, but nonetheless the general styling, shape, and dimensions of the 4 Series Coupe Concept will carry over to the production model. The more conceptually styled elements such as the bumpers, mirrors, fender vents, and wheels will look different on the production model.

Also see our other comparisons:

Compared to the F13 6 Series Coupe, the F32 4 Series Coupe Concept is:

10 inches shorter in length
2.8 inches shorter in width
0.3 inch lower in height
1.8 inches shorter wheelbase

looks better than the 6. The LED head lights look more like the 7 series LCI's...

Indeed looks better than the 6. If they keep the LED design from the concept it would be awesome. (that is bcause we havent seen any 4/M4 prototype running with them, and on the other hand we had 6/M6 prototypes running with the same LEDs from its concepts) .

still cant get passed the kia optima front. and that rear bumper is way too busy. Hopefully it gets normal bmw door handles as well. Lets also lose the 7 vent on the side..

Relax about the bumpers folks. This is a concept, right?

A look at the production model spy pics should tell you that the production bumpers will be different.

The first head shot makes the 6-series look more cute/herp-derp, due to the roundedness

The 4-series looks much more aggressive.

I don't know whos keep comparing the F32 4 Series Coupe Concept to the E92 and 6 series??
They clearly don't know what they're talking about

The 4 series Coupe looks much much better than the 6 series (the 6er is just too long and fish like).
Of course the interior of the 6er has certain more premium parts.

Yeah, I like the 6er, but I love the 4er. I'm happy to wait for this one, might even wait till the M comes out. Go big or go home haha.

The proportions of the 4 look a lot better than the 6, with its crazy front and rear overhangs and Golden Gate-span wheelbase.

If the 4 looks like this then the M4 is going to look and be STRAIGHT HULKISH. I mean this 4 series thing looks good, really good. It's amazing what Wide Low STANCE can do for a car. BMW is very smart with their marketing.

I sat in the ///M6 today and tried to wrap my head around the design. I love the Front and Rear but the side profile seems lacking somehow.

Wink

I have to agree!!! both cars are looking so great but it is right that the new 4 series looks more up to date than the 6 series! What I`m wondering for is that the 4 series is only a few cm smaler than the 6 series.

But both are great cars!

I'm actually surprised to see how the bottom grill opening in the concept 4 is pretty much along the lines of the production 6 series.

Fill in the gap on the 4 concept and its the same opening as the 6.

Sweet!!!
