M Sport Steering Wheel repair

My original 2014 f32 wheel started to really bug me. It was fading and cracking at the top and I could feel it every time I drove. It was also very shiny. I was on the verge of buying a V2 wheel but thought it was silly since these wheels are pretty similar and I do like the feel of this one. Another option was to recover, but in my opinion recovered wheels feel like pool noodles.

I figured I'd give the restoration a try. Got this kit: https://leatherworldtech.com/deluxe-leather-repair-kit/
Our wheel is Color Code: 917

Step 1: Lightly scuff wheel with pad in kit. I go some high grit sandpaper and wet sanded as well.

Step 2: Wipe clean, dry, and get a small amount of dye on the sponge applicator. Lightly dab the wheel with the sponge in 6-8 inch areas. Do not make the layers too thick or it will cause the wheel to feel rough. You should be seeing tiny bubbles when you dab, but these disappear and become flat (unless of course you've used too much dye).

Step 3: Repeat step 2 as many times as you need to get an even/smooth finish.

Step 4:
Let dry for 24 hours then apply leather creme from kit.

Here are some before and after pictures. Feels brand new.

During.

After.

looks great! what kind of kit size was enough for 1 wheel?
I see they have 4oz, 8oz etc....
Also, did you use Satin, Semi or High Gloss?

4oz Satin was plenty for the top area of my wheel.
