Active Spoiler / trunk waterfall
Anyone else have an issue with water literally showering the rear pillars, rear speakers and seat release latch after accumulating rain water? Every time it rains and I have to open the rear hatch I have to towel dry half the trunk

I haven't looked but there must be weep holes that allow the spoiler recess to drain. Yours are probably clogged. I've never had the problem you describe.

I have this issue as well. I opened the boot after I washed the car the day before, and had to towel dry the boot...will check later if the drain hole is clogged.

True enough. There are 2 drain holes on each side of the active spoiler's stand, and found leaves, dirt and grease. Removed what I can but going to ask the dealer to do it when I bring it for oil service next week.

Has anyone got any pictures of where these holes are supposed to be located?
I raised the spoiler but couldn't see any ducting.

I removed some leaves and grime in the "H" shape looking fixture on the right of the spoiler stand. It was still accumulating water until I highlighted the issue when I brought the car for oil service.

The drainage under the rear spoiler is working well on my car. I had quite a bit of snow and ice in the area shown in the picture above . The next morning it was all gone and dry.

Rapid64k, the guys at the dealer told me they flushed it with water. Maybe you can try.
Tores, mine used to store water for days (or until I open the trunk...). porbably good when it is newer but my car turned 2 years couple of months back. |

I have not had an issue yet. I just want to know where it is just in case I had a problem.

took mine to the dealership .. spoke to the manager and he thinks it's a design flaw ... even if the drain whole aren't clogged, there are still high points that prevent water from reaching the drains....

Check this posting about the same issue: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh....php?t=1261746
To raise the spoiler there is a button on the drivers arm rest, press and hold till it locks in to the raised position. I raise mine every time I wash the car. |
