Does anyone know who makes these spring and dampers for BMW? I wouldn't be surprised if this was bilstein/eibach. AFAIK original dampers are Monroe.

I thought original dampers were made by Sachs which is now owned by ZF.

I don't mind the M Performance Suspension kit not lowering the car by that much. Extreme drops come at the expensive of drivability and performance. This is probably why BMW, Ohlins, and AST recommend only a 10mm drop beyond the 704 Sport suspension.

I take it the pictures work now, heh.
Yes, it's the optimum rate of drop for this vehicle. Firmed up, yes. Still relatively smooth in most cases. Once I switch from the run-flats that'll make it a little smoother.

I just ordered the M Performance Suspension kit.

I also ordered these additional items:

Partnumber: 83420428190
BOX-SECTION WAX SPRA

Partnumber: 31106856004
FOAM SEAL

The foam seal showed up here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=03_3994

But not in the ETK breakdown of the M Performance Suspension kit.

i had to just reuse the original. my car was a year old when i changed it so the seal condition seemed ok. i would have definitely replaced it if i knew ahead of time, though...

Just read the M2 M performance suspension is made by KW.
http://blog.**********s.com/quick-sn...tails-modauto/
EDIT: link's blocked but that was on Mod Bargain's blog today.

Wondering if the 3 series is from them too, would make sense.
Anyway, i'm very happy with my KW DDC set now that i've softened by anti roll bars

Not sure why but this looks my bilstein-ish than KW-ish
As a comparison, the M4 GTS definitely look like (and are) KWs without the branding.

Labor cost in Houston

How much is the cost to install for 2012 F30 335i sedan with M sport suspension (does not need sway bars).

Did someone get this installed in Houston, TX? Cost and shop please?

Also live in Houston and curious as well.

One question, total newbie when it comes to springs/suspensions, how come this one (link below) is so much more cheaper than getbmwparts....$380 vs $1500

https://www.bmwpartspros.com/partloc...catalogid=8798

Also BMW website has it at $980, I know both BMW website and bmwpartspro doesnt include spring in price, but cant be that much different

Must be that line at the bottom of the description window that says:
"hardware not included."
That price they have listed is close to what the springs themselves cost, nothing else.

I attempted to install my M Performance Suspension yesterday but experienced a fail along the way so I'll be attempting it again in approximately 2 weeks. The short story is that I applied the wrong torque setting to the hex bolts that fasten the front top hat to the strut tower. My car originally came with M10 (steel) bolts that are spec'd to 41 ft. lbs. + 90 degrees. The M Performance Suspension kit comes with the weaker M8 (aluminum) bolts that are spec'd to 21 ft. lbs. + 90 degrees. The M8 bolts sheared off inside the top mount and I had to spend an extra hour or two dissembling the front spring/strut assembling and extracting the partial bolt.

Regardless, here's a few items that you may want to order since the M Performance Suspension kit doesn't have or doesn't have enough of if your install doesn't go perfect:

- Strut bar to strut tower Torx bolt
- Extra M8/M10 top-hat (guide support) to strut tower bolts
- Sway bar to strut nut
- Steering knucke bolt + nut
- M12 self-locking collar nut (if you somehow need to disassemble the front spring strut assembly, you'll need a new nut and these are also used in the rear to secure bottom of strut to control arm)
- Hex screw + self locking collar nut (secures rear control arms to wheel carrier)

I'm planning on purchasing the BMW M Performance Suspension kit from getBMWparts.

I looked up the kit in BMW ETK for a breakdown of the include parts. I was hoping those who have purchased this kit can confirm this breakdown.
