320i BimmerLink Exhaust Flap

Hello all! I have a stock F30 320i. As many of you all know, there's an app called BimmerLink. And on that app, you can open up the exhaust flap. That's pretty much the only reason I want this app. Should I expect to hear a louder exhaust tone? Also, what else would I find this app to be useful for?

If you have a 320i you don't have an exhaust flap.

Yes the 320i does not have the exhaust flap. Bimmerlink is pretty useless imo, I think everything was in German when I got it a while ago. BimmerCode is useful for coding, then you can use nearly any OBD linked app on the App Store for other parameters.

Well in 2014 model 3.20d f30, isn't there an exhaust valve opening?

Even if you did have an exhaust flap, BimmerLink is for diagnostics and it is true you can open the flap but it's for testing purposes and once you shut off the car the flap will return to normal operation.

I tried it for the bmw 3.20d, unfortunately there is no exhaust flap option even in the options, no flap anyway but it's a nice app to detect problems early.

The MSport does, that's cool!

The non MSport does not.

I coded my rear fog lights with Bimmerlink and Sport+.

How can you tell if the stock 320i has an exhaust flap?

thanks, the thing is is that the F10 328i which uses the N20 engine, also listed as compatible, so I am curious if the F30 model has the same connector.

Thanks.

I think it does, but I'll get a 100% answer from Valvetronic and update the thread

When you say Valvetronic exhaust, do you mean an exhaust made by Valvetronic or an exhaust which uses valve controllers?

The exhaust has a valve which can be open or closed just like valvetronics exhaust using a remote.

My exhaust now doesn’t have the controller but have the valve flap which i currently set to closed by pulling back the flap and tie the flap adjuster to the chassis using stainless wire.

That's what I thought, I'm glad I checked.

Which brand is the exhaust?
