Tapping noise when unlocking the car

Hey everyone,
I have a 2014 m235i
Whenever I unlock the car when it's been sitting for more than an hour it makes this tapping noise for 1-2 seconds in the engine bay. Like a woodpecker.
No check engine light.
Slight misfire/hiccup at idle.
I'm starting to think its a eccentric shaft motor issue?
Any ideas

Might be the valvetronic motor taking its reading and beginning to bind. Not a cheap repair. Wait for a code. Could be an injector/coil.

So probably need to replace motor and shaft? Car still drives fine and doesn't have the stalling problem like some report.

sounds good I'll start saving up for it. I could also maybe download INPA and run a test on it correct?

Got it scanned shadow codes came up.
135808- valvetronic servomotor, potion sensors, electrical malfunction - permanent
135A08 - Valvetronic servomotor, position sensors, signal: not plausible - intermittent

Looked at the valvetronic plug and unplugged it. No signs of oil.

I would download ISTA+, INPA didn't work on the F30 when I had tried it a few years ago. ISTA+ can trigger all the different functions of an ECU however.

BMW is replacing my valvetronic motor for free even though the car has over 80k. I don't know why but I'm not going to ask questions!

Are you sure it's not the noise of the fuel pump priming the fuel lines?

Nope it was the valvetronic motor. BMW has a 80k mile warranty on it. So I got a free valvecover gasket with the new motor!

I have the same symptom but mileage at 120k already.
Can you share please if the replaced valvetronic servomotor to be this part on your records?
BMW Part Number: 11377603979

I'm thinking having to get a workshop to help me replace this, not something i can manage DIY and dont find any resources either for it.
