Can anyone recommend a good dash cam?
I wanted something compact like this that can be wired in:

I'm partial to BlackVue DR900S-2CH. The Wifi and remote access is used often.
Check this link out for some comparisons: https://www.vortexradar.com/best-dashcams/ I always use a 2nd battery system with charging isolator (esp to get constant power). Example: West Mountain Radio ISOpwr and D34M Optima BlueTop (starter/deep cycle) battery. YMMV depending on intended use and if other items like transceivers, hotspots, etc. are used! -cognetic |

I went for a Viofo A119v3. Not the same shape as the Blackvue but it’s kind of small and pretty much unnoticeable when mounted.

I have a Thinkware dash cam in my car and they work great. Much more energy efficient and reliable than BlackVue. I'd recommend checking out the Thinkware F800 PRO or Q800 PRO series.
If you're in Vancouver, Essell Auto is local and sells/installs dash cams. They've got a pretty good selection and knows BMWs pretty well when it comes to hardwiring. https://www.essellauto.com/

I also have the Viofo A119v3 hard wired into two cars. The image is great during day and night viewing. Not very expensive either.
