old Map Updates without any active subscription
Hi guys.
I got my 2nd hand F30 328i one month ago, 2yrs Premium Selection. Car production date Nov 2012, first owner registered on 03.2015. I see that the first owner never updated the nav maps , so pretty old maps. Generally I'm not interested in car navigation (I use waze on mobile when rarely needed), but -anyway- could be useful to have maps a little bit more updated. Obviously new update require an FSC Code to be installed. Many source on the web offer fsc codes at resonable price BUT I'm worried about to apply any update extra bmw network due to the risk of voiding Premium Selection warranty. Updating maps by BMW service isn't under consideration due to the costs related to my nav's usage. My question is, if someone tried before: Bmw offers some years of free maps updates (2? 3?).. so what about trying to install an old map update (example, 2017 when the car was supposed to be under free update period)? Car will ask for FSC code anyway? |

First Im not sure if you're be able to update the maps from 2012 to 2017 w/o updating the car software itself.
Second heres a thread into the concerning section where some users are discussing and sharing navigating data and yes, if you haven't any connect features active you have to enter a FSC after or before the installation of navimaps updates.
