If Burbank is within reasonable distance, I'd suggest MTech Autocare.
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1506345 EJ owns the shop and does all of the work himself. Knowledgable, honest guy who pays meticulous attention to detail and charges a fair price. My go-to shop for all indy work. Let him know you're from Bimmerpost

If you actually like cars (and have the means), this is a perfect DIY to get acquainted with your car. Very easy to accomplish in an afternoon.
I get that some people dont have garages and thats fine. Id be lying if I said I havent worked on my car in a parking garage at points in my life though. Thats just me. All Im saying is there's something to be said for actually doing the work yourself and building a bond with your vehicle. Anyone can throw money at a machine to make it go faster but how many will take the time and effort to learn about the platform and get their hands dirty a little bit? Im never tearing my engine apart and I would never recommend anyone without training do that in their home garage either. What Im saying is that its amazing how many things you may read about on this forum are very easily DIY'd. As you accomplish a task and slowly customize your car to your liking... you will feel a certain amount of ownership and pride that you will not experience having Johnny at the corner do. You may even run into some of the nightmares people on this forum have for a simple job (ie, engine covers cracked, scratches/dents, overall abuse)... I dont like the thought of Johnny taking "his test drive" to make sure everything is okay after either. Nope. How else do you test out performance mods besides stomping the pedal to the ground? I'd like to do that part myself. When the car is properly warmed up and I feel like it. I dont let anyone touch my car besides me and BMW. Thats not to say a good Indy isnt GOLD because he is. I just dont have one as Im from the East Coast. Doesnt sound like you do either and thats why I am offering this caution. Last edited by sspade; 02-19-2019 at 09:35 AM.. |

See my post about an issue I had. The shop did downpipe and air intake only and now my car is jacked. I had a guy in OC tell me that he should have done the tune at the same time to prevent the fuel from running to lean and causing the major issue I have now. I'm not sure if that's what cause it or not, but maybe something to ask about and look into:
