Which are you using? There's one under the dash under the glove box sort of to the left of it.

ELECTRIC STEERING. I HATE THE ELECTRIC STEERING IN THESE CARS NOW... only thing I am going to miss getting out of my E90 for and there's no way in hell I'm gonna get an X1 (no offense to you X1 lovers out there).

A few things.
- electric steering
- lack of road feel - no "all" or "sync" buttons for the climate control - body roll - no manual option for n20 powered f30/32 equipped with xDrive - lack of storage in center console - headlights touching the grills |

Lack of straightforward iPod/iPhone integration (unless you have EBT, Pro Nav etc).
Poor quality leather. No option for digital speed readout in the instrument cluster - had this on my old A3 and it was great. Tray cover for cup holders - annoying design means you can nearly rip your fingernails off trying to get it out. And then... oh wait I have to stash in unceremoniously in the glove box. Stupid. |

Don't care for the door unlock button on dash. Windshield defroster doesn't seem all that good for melting ice off windshield. Uses a ton of washer fluid with cold weather package. When lights are on and you use washers it will spray the headlights and you are out of fluid quickly.
Hate how easily the paint chips. Already had 3 or 4 when clear bra was applied at 700 miles. Launch control needs too many steps. Simplify it. Nav screen should fold down or disappear into dash. Should be able to order Msport brakes with 18" all seasons. Wheels seem to crack like spring ice and tires blow easily and run flats you have no spare. Stupid design if the point is NOT to strand you on the side of the road. Map pocket in door intrudes and door pull is awkward. |

- the stupid cover over the cupholders detach
- the buttons for drive modes (sport+, sport, comfort) should be easier to get to like on the steering wheel - right now the driver's side armrest (on the door) is just flat...there should be a depression there you can grab on to like a handle that's further back on the door that makes it easier to swing the long doors of the coupe shut as well as grab on to when you swing the door open...the long vertical handle that's there right now is too far forward. - weird that 'Auto' on the climate control still allows you to change fan speed? it should also allow you to sync left and right climate zones - iPhone keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth when i try to play podcasts...i don't think iDrive fully supports iOS7 just yet...it only works sometimes (plays everything else though) - not a huge fan of the rotary track selector on the wheel...that would have been better used as volume control and the volume buttons as forward and back buttons - it's non-intuitive to be able to select tracks using the iDrive on the center console but then have to reach elsewhere to control the volume - touchpad is a joke - not a fan of how when you reverse, sometimes you have to change the view between top view and reverse view...it really should just show you both views on that widescreen iDrive screen |

Lots of comments so far about the technology, iDrive menu and controls, plasticky interior. Not much about the steering, handling, road feel or powertrain. BMW sure is attracting a new type of consumer. Their new marketing strategy at work.

Mine are -
Electric power steering Handling There is much more I like about this car than don't like. Hate to say this, but it is growing on me. I was not happy at all at first. I'm coming around and warming up to the f3x's more and more now. |

Sad isn't it? The only thing I mentioned I didn't like was the steering. iDrive is iDrive and everyone complains about it yet imitates BMW on it. I think the road feel isn't that bad, but all stems from the Electric Steering. :-/

Navigation system is attrocious
Most of my complaints with my new F34 have already been mentioned, but let me specifically call out the disaster that is the navigation system.

- Routing is excellent - I've compared the directions to Google Maps on my smartphone, and the routing is similar. - Advance warning of multiple actions - gives you plenty of notice to take action. The directions are clear and concise. - Interface - this I agree with. I use Google Maps/Send to Car app to send directions to the system. This is so much easier than entering an address using the iDrive system. However, I've used systems in other cars, and it's always hit or miss.

Yeah he has the GT as well so he's got the updated Map Version too which has considerably more streets, poi, etc. The only thing I don't personally care for on the new navi is the iDrive controller being a touch pad as well. Who honestly uses that?! lol much easier to do voice commands or scroll and press.
