So are 2017 North America maps officially available? I literally just got my car back from the BMW dealer for CPO certification, which included Maps updates, and iDrive info says 2016. They told me it was the latest. Should I put my foot down?

Yes, 2017-1 is released.

CPO does not and never has included Map Update. You will be wasting your time.

You are looking for something that does not even exist yet. North America EVO 2016-4 was just released.

Ah, is that correct? I just had mine updated at the dealer as a part of CPO, and I noticed it said 2016 and I thought they shorted me a version.

p.s. Just checked, and it says 2016-1. This update was performed last week on my 2014 335i.

You likely have NEXT map, and 2017-1 is latest release.

EVO map is for newer NBT2 Head Units and NEXT Map is for older NBT Head Units. You do not have choice in map type. You must run the correct type for your hardware.
