Sounds like a manual to me. Manual gearboxes will probably make a come back as anti-theft devices in 2019.

Hope it works out for the owner.

From the way it reads.

Burglar gets in house.

Son and his father realise what's going on.

Dad rushes out to confront the burglars and wrestles with them in the car.

Prevents car being stolen but they run off with rest of stuff.

Dad crawls out of broken car window.

While this is going on, the son heroically dives on to Facebook to let everyone know his car has been stolen...

Just sums up the Chav mentality in this country. The blokes house was burgled. His car nicked and his old man risked jury. And most of the comments on the "mail online" just jealous wankers.

Well if he was upstairs and the dad heard it from downstairs THEN raced outside and jumped into the car the son might not have made it to the front door by the time the guy had crashed the car 20 yards down the street.

I avoid reading comments in the daily mail.

It's like going in to a Weatherspoons on a Bank Holiday.

(Admittedly I try to avoid the daily mail).

Btw my point about the Facebook post was it mentioned the car had been stolen and not that had been stopped from being stolen.

Hence the Sons heroic actions in logging on to Facebook, assuming he ever logs off

At 6am on a Sunday morning don't you think there's an outside chance the son could have actually been asleep in his bed and by the time he heard something it was all over (or at least too late for him to get involved in trying to catch the scumbag who'd burgled their house and attempted to steal his car?).

The idea he heard what was going on and chose to go on Facebook rather than help his dad might make for a good knock-about comment or two on forums like this but its pure conjecture and (IMHO) highly unlikely to be true.......

I kind of knew what sorts of comments they'd be like, wouldn't expect anything different from daily mail reader
