Drivetrain malfunction error message
2012 328i 4cyl engine with ±127,000 miles and the dreaded drivetrain malfunction error message, first round of fixes by the dealer was vacuum pump, now the error happens ever time I drive the car, no misfires, black smoke, shuttering or other symptoms mentioned in other posts, just driving on the road.....now the dealer is telling me turbo needs replacing and I don't buy that as the fix as that is not listed on anything I have read to date for the error message, if find lots of other fixes, but not the turbo.....thoughts and ideas appreciated.....

Provide them yourself. An OBD diagnostic app isn't a luxury, it's a necessity, unless you like paying stealerships insane prices for a two minute procedure. Bimmer-tool Lite is very good, and it's freeware.
