M style carbon fiber mirror caps DIY
Hey yall!
I wanted to share my latest project and changed out my piano black mirror caps to M style carbon fiber caps! VERY quick and easy install, and look incredibly good already! I was concerned about mirror movement as well, as the mirrors sweep in and out, but zero issues on clearance whatsoever. I love them!

You don't have to remove the mirror glass to get the cap off. It will pry off very easily using plastic trim removal wedges, at least two, to distribute pressure around the cap. I didn't replace my caps, but I did wrap them, which required removing them.
Others have mentioned breaking the glass trying to remove it. |

What's odd is that newTIS recommends removing the glass, makes no mention of using trim removal wedges. I found out how easily the caps come off when I drove just a tad too close to my garage door frame, hit it with the mirror and the cap popped off. Seeing how the clips held it in place it was obvious how to pry it off again, which I did a week later to wrap it, a result of the small scratch I put in it when it fell off.

my guess would be get the caps, have your local paint shop color match. I got my CF M replica spoiler painted for like $90.

Perhaps not exactly what you're looking for, but I think they look nice.

I've never had to get anything painted before, are third party people pretty good at color matching? |
