What Was Your New Car Paint Like?

As the title suggests, when you picked up your new factory ordered BMW, what was the condition of your paintwork?

Did you have to do any polishing to make it perfect under a detailers eye?

Surprisingly, it was near perfect. After completing the deal, they pulled it in for a "detail", which I assumed was just a wash and maybe some wax, but they actually polished/buffed the paint to a nice gloss before applying wax. They took their time and it looked great.

Mine was very good. The dealer had only washed the car and not waxed/polished the car. Paint was good. I did a clay and the paint was relatively smooth. I checked the paint with my lights and really didn't find too many problems. Paint was good. I did a quick polish and applied sealant and it was great.

I have to say that I did look at the paint on the cars beside mine being delivered the same day. They have a "car spa" as they call it that does in house detailing at the dealer. Those guys washed the cars, moved them inside and then gave the car a light polish and wax with BMW stuff. They looked to be doing a good job. Taking some care and attention. The end results were really good and the lighting showed off the paint so any imperfections really would have shown up.

Mine was perfect. Dealer just took the wrap off and washed it. They have a detail center so I'm assuming they know how to wash a car without scratching it.

It was meh. Little bit of fallout, some orange peel and even a few swirls here and there in the right light. Brought mine to Detailer's Domain in North Jersey for a new car prep, and no joke, I thought it was a different car when I went to pick it up.

Sorry to hear! With your next purchase, (if it's a BMW) I strongly recommend Thompson BMW of Doylestown! Never seen such beautiful and flawless paint and prep work; couldn't find one fault and I looked for a long time, haha They have amazing service and detail centers.
