What do you guys use to clean the interior of your cars?
I live in the Toronto area and the salt is driving me mad. I've got dirt everywhere.

After a good vacuum with s soft brush, for the actual cleaning, not post protection, I always use a moistened and wrung out high quality fluffy microfibre cloth. Excellent for removing most grime.
As per above, I also use 303 aerospace - leaves an excellent finish on all surfaces, including leather, if instructions followed to the letter. It's properties mean it is quite repellant against dirt and grime, so reducing frequency of cleaning, which is always nice. |

303 Aerospace on everything but the leather. It's such a good all around product.
For leather, I use the BMW leather cleaner for touch ups. For deep cleans, vacuum, then cleaner+brush, sometimes Leather Master conditioner before all that, just because I like the smell. I use to go nuts on the leather. Cleaner, conditioner, brush, constantly vacuuming, but honestly, it's like a nice wool suit that just needs a dry clean every now and then. Likewise, the best way to keep the leather clean and looking great is to vacuum every now and then, and just wipe it down with a MF towel. The cleaner is good for spots or color run-off from clothes, but beyond that, just leave it alone, maybe do a deep clean twice a year, depending on your level of wear and tear.

Einszett cockpit premium on for the dash, door panels, etc.
http://www.eshine.ca/1z_einszett_coc..._169oz-102.php Sonax leather foam for the seats http://www.eshine.ca/sonax_leather_f..._135oz-553.php Invisible glass for the windows http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/automo...ontent=Default Been using this combo for quite some and have been very pleased with results. I find I can get the interior back to looking as good as it was when it was new after a good interior cleaning using the above products and doing a thorough vacuuming.

I received a free bottle of Leather Serum from Chemical Guys. Wow! Great stuff. My black leather looks brand new. Deep, rich, black, not shiny. It's my new favorite leather product.

get weathertech floor trays! I don't worry about the carpet at all, just clean the leather and dashboard using the bmw branded products my SA gave me.

Buy these weather mats and you will never have this problem: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-OEM-Blac...-/321707206806
These offer superior protection. As for the leather I first use lexol cleaner than lexol conditioner. |

So far, Griot's Cleaner for the plastics and dash, Invisible glass for the windows, vacuum and weathertech floormats for the winter, and still in search of something for the leather seats. I bought one of those Black and Decker (FLEX series) handheld battery powered vacuum cleaners from Walmart for $50 which is working out great.
I recently tried cleaning my leather seats for the first time with Griot's Leather 3-in-1 and not too happy with the results. I've got black Dakota leather seats and it seems to just make the black look dull after trying both light or heavy applications with a terry applicator pad followed by buffing off with a mf towel per their instructions. Glad this thread just popped up as I'm looking for something else to try on the seats Last edited by rphz; 02-22-2017 at 10:04 PM.. |
