These 18x8.5 ET38 ARC-8 wheels fit the F30 perfectly.

Would 17x9 ET30 mounted on 255/40/17 fit a 2017 F30 340i X-Drive?

Thanks for the message! For the F30 we recommend the 17x9" ET42 with 245/45-18 tires as a square setup.

Here are some photos:

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any additional questions.

So the 17x9 ET30 won't work? Only reason I'm asking is because I have brand new set from my E92.

The 17x9" ET30 would stick out 12mm further than the setup in the photos shown above, and would likely hit the fender on hard cornering and/or bumps.

Since you have the wheels already though, it would be worth a quick test-fit to be sure!

For example, here's another photo of 8.5" ET35 wheels. the 9" ET30 would stick out 11mm further than this setup:

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

I want to run a 18x9 Setup? Is this possible on F30? What spec's/tire size would be best.

Thanks for the post! We recommend the 18x9" ET42 with 245/40-18 tires as a direct fit with no spacers or modifications required.

245 are too skinny for such a heavy car on a race track.
What is the choice for the widest 18 inch staggert set up for 340i with the stock ride height and -3.2 Front/2.0 Rear negative camber?
Thanks

Datka,

We have had a ton of success running our old M-Sport F30 on track with this 245 width 9" square setup

Due to the fender clearances on the F30, we would recommend the following staggered fitment for this chassis:

18" Staggered:
Front: 18x8.5" ET35 - 235/40-18
Rear: 18x9.5" ET43 - 255/40-18

Best,
Max

Max, I understand that fender clearances are limited on this platform but that staggered set up is on a very conservative side I think.
Don't you think that with negative camber I mentioned in my previous post with lower aspect ratio, 255/35 not 40 and 265/35 will fit this car with the stock ride height?

Just purchased a F30 335i M Sport Xdrive, was wondering how wide of a square tire/wheel combo could be ran with the 18x9 et30 ARC 8's or if the 18x8.5 et38's would be a better choice; and if so, how wide of a tire could be ran without fitment issues?

Thanks for the post! The reduced aspect ratio and negative camber will definitely help with clearances, and you may be able to run those sizes without issues at stock height. We haven't tested that particular setup in house, so we aren't able to guarantee a trouble-free fitment, but it does sound doable. We'd suggest being prepared to roll the rear fenders if you do experience any rubbing during hard cornering or over large bumps, or add front small front spacers if the tire is contacting the strut.

245/40-18 is the widest we'd recommend for either of those sizes as a square fitment. With the 18x8.5" ET38 they'll be a direct fit with no modification required, and with the 18x9" ET30 you may need some negative camber up front and/or rolled rear fenders to prevent rubbing depending on your ride height and tire choice.

+1 ON 18X9 ET30 Square. If anyone tries it, lets post it up please. This is the size I have my heart set on and with everyone running the 437m wheel up front at 19x9 ET29 I dont see why it wouldnt fit. That being said if my math is right that would put the 437 wheel 17.7mm further out and 7.7mm closer to the strut and apex would be 16.7mm further and 8.7mm closer to strut, I feel that is very doable considering the 437m wheels are practically proven on the f30 chassis. am I missing something here?

and math is based off my 397 wheels at 18x8 ET34

I love the concave ARC-8

So I stumbled across this last night while still trying to do research on this subject. he is running 18x9 et31 square in the EC-7 so now I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on the arc-8 et30. I think I can handle the 1mm difference lol.

Awesome find! Looks like they fit pretty well on the car too, and they mention no rubbing later in the thread.

If that's the case, this looks like a pretty solid fitment for the F30 platform, as long as narrower 245 tires are used up front. Because it's such an aggressive fitment up front, we suggest being prepared to add camber plates to prevent any possible rubbing if necessary, and to just be aware that some tires run a bit wider than others.

Aside from that, be sure to post some photos when you get them mounted!

Thanks for the post! The M-Performance brakes with 370mm rotors will require at least 18" wheels. We'd recommend the 18x8.5" ET35 or ET38 for a direct fit.
