FwIw, I almost reached 300whp (292whp) without meth and turbo upgrade.
Here's my post with dyno and current mods:

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1430102

I will however upgrade my turbo this summer as I want to break the 300whp line.

In that 340, I bet it's fun lol.

Yeah, depends where you live for sure.. I hardly get to take her up to max speed, but I always get to have fun with the acceleration.

I made a thread about this but it didn't really take of. Maybe you guys can give me some good advice.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KATE-COOL...-/192266906381

Is this a sane investment for someone who plans to take his car above 300whp? To me, It looks like a must-have. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger, just need someone with experience to chime in..

Stubok has one. You could also save a ton by doing a universal kit and just source the plate to fit the W/O exchanger.

Based on the collective research, it will be beneficial if you're tracking the car, keeping constant high-heat and the early torque peak to help with lap times.

For DD, dig/roll racing, and others, no. If you want to push the car to 350whp, upgraded rod bolts are the safest best. You should also do those if you're going to track the car. Smoothing out the torque curve would also help.

I took the plundge and ordered the Kate Cool Oil Cooler kit
http://www.katecool-motors.com/engin...3-f36-n20.html

I've been looking at it for a year wanting to order, so it was bound to happen. Oh well, I guess having this oil cooler will help the end goal of reaching well over 300whp safely. Next up is upgraded rod bolts - Do you have any product link? /thanks.

Manboy - have you been to the strip yet?

We have a list going on another thread and would love to add you and some of your friends to it. All you need to be added is a verified time slip.

You can find it here:

Meth kit is going in next week. I'll keep everyone posted, excited for it.

Let me know if anyone has any questions that I can answer during the install.

Awesome

Take it to the strip shortly thereafter!

Im amazed that more people dont post their slips or just plain and simply have not been to the strip (myself included)...

Based on the mods of people who have ran (and posted).... there are definitely WAYYY faster cars on this forum who are full bolt on and flash/dyno tuned.

... the "Second Fastest N20" in this entire community (with members all over the globe) has zero bolt on mods. Hmm.

Where are all the enthusiasts? Ive owned my car 8 months, will definitely get out before the year is out.

Too far haha. I'll get out there when I'm done with the build this summer. I'll get IssaF32 up there as well.

I think you're being too pessimistic lol. I managed an 8.5 1/8th with noting but xDrive, PSS tires and Dinantronics sport. Time slips are in the other thread, but we already went over this Looking forward to seeing if I can improve now that I'm on BM3 rather than the Dinan piggyback.

Keep pushing that thread! lol. I totally am with you though, wish more people would go or at least post their times if they already have. I think if you care about power enough to get to 300whp on these cars, I would think you'd also want to go to the drag strip. But it's not that easy for some, and I guess some people are just not into it. I do think it's a little strange to not want to go, but not as strange if location or something else is preventing some from going.

No. Some of us are either busy with life and don't live near a track. Between work, school, and a personal life, along with waiting til I get my tune/bolts done, I haven't made it yet. Nearest track is like three or so hours away from where I live, so only makes sense to just go there in like a month or two when the build is done.

Exactly, no way I'd have gone if my nearest track was 3 hours away. Luckily drag strips are like McDonals in NJ, they're everywhere!
