ACS Springs & Adaptive S Suspension
The benefits of the ACS springs to the X-drive F30/31s are well highlighted on the ACS homepage.
What advantages (and disadvantages, I like comfort with my sporty ride), do they bring the S drive models with adaptive? I'm assuming some of you will have personal experience thereof. Thanks for your thoughts. |

I have ACS springs on my 4 series with adaptive dampers. I would say it firms up the ride by around 10% and is no way uncomfortable. It's lowered the car by around 16mm

I'm running a hybrid suspension set-up on my SD and in the main it's a very good improvement from stock (was M Sport, adaptive dampers, RFTs).
MPSS help enormously with ride quality, grip and traction. ACS springs provide a firmer ride but not crashy (due to non-RFTs). Bird's ARBs keep the car very flat through fast corners. Adaptive dampers are adequate but could be better - they are firmer in Sport and Sport+ modes but rebound damping is still poor. I like the ability to switch between Comfort and Sport. Depending on what you want from the car I'd recommend this set-up or going straight for top-end coilovers.
