3.5 Bar N20 MAP Sensor
Whilst Ive been playing with my meth settings, and JB4, Ive come across the issue where I think I cant increase the JB4s target boost (on map3) as I have maxed out the OEM 2.5 bar sensor.
Ive stacked the JB4 on a custom BEF, and using the JB4 on map 3 ONLY to control meth. So, my question is; is the 3.5BAR N20 sensor upgrade a simple bolt on? Do you fit the sensor and the max MAP limit is raised, or does the sensor / custom map require calibration? (I know the JB4 target is below ECU PSI in the graph - log was taken whilst testing before I lifted the target) |

Need a new custom map if you dont want to use JB4 for boost control. But if you only use JB4 for meth then why not run map0 to avoid JB4 interfeering with the DME operation. (Note: I have been away from JB4 for about a year now so things might have changed).

The JB4 on Map 3 will increase boost when meth is flowing, meaning that you get the protection of requiring methanol flow before the JB4 will add anymore boost to the BEF.
My issue is that my BEF is maxing out the 2.5bar Map Sensor at 21.4psi, so without more headroom the JB4 cannot add / target anymore boost - I cant target 23psi, for example, on the JB4, as the 2.5 bar map sensor will not read that high, hence why I think I need to change to a 3.5 bar sensor? In the graph attached my ECU boost flatlines at 21.4psi - actual boost is pobably a little higher, but the 2.5 sensor will not read anymore. |
