I think the side vent looks good, it breaks up the area behind the wheel. Aftermarket guys will make a killing in CF pop-in vent covers.

92miami thanks for posting. I'm looking at it this way BMW is not going to spend millions designing a car, then they run out to Pep Boys, buy trim to frame a fender vent. We're not looking at the final product. I believe the photo shoot was staged as a teaser of what we'll see in January.

Oh and that little side vent could actually be functional, the front air curtain brings in cool air for brake cooling and the side vents acts as an exhaust for the hot air from the brakes. I will have a look to confirm when I see one in person.

Can everyone just relax about the side vent (gil), until the wraps are completely removed and the car is fully revealed? I'm sure theres a purpose for it. BTW, that front is very forward leaning, very shark-like...

It also looks like it pooped its diaper, that rear "brake vent" is so clumsy and overdone. Awful.

WHY call it a 440i when it's a 3.0litre
More confusion. Smoke and mirrors.
Looks like the old M3 to me, with side vent.

BMW dropped that naming convention years ago. A 328i is a 2.0L and 335i is of course 3.0L.

Thoughts on revealed F32 4 Series Coupe?

Seeing as how we're running out of topics to talk about, please discuss your thoughts on how the new M3/4 coupe will be with these 3/4 coupe shots.

the body's proportions look fantastic. I love the side window shape. Likely there won't be any surprises with front fascia as it'll have to look like the current F30 sedans that has already been released.

I remember a few months ago, someone posted comments on how ugly the body style is after looking at a test mule....

Yeah the side window shape is very nice and makes it look long and dynamic. Do you think BMW is going to go the E46 approach where the front ends of the coupe and sedan will be very similar? I'm really hoping they do the E9x approach and make the coupe more aggressive.

Hasn't Audi been selling the A4 in China for about 10 years now? They don't seem to have a problem with the name of that model.

I believe those side air vents are functional in conjunction with the air curtain technology (front bumper).

Ironically, people vent over the side vents....

The side rear windows look longer than the previous generation. It makes the car look longer...actually, it probably is. I guess I'll just have to adjust to it. Overall, meh.
