'13 335i 6MT/RWD here in NJ Keep in mind the responses here won't represent what you see on the road, the vast majority of F30's on the road are autos, but most of the manuals are owned by enthusiasts who happen to frequent forums like these. Obligatory pic:

A very rare sight to see indeed! I've only ever seen one other Melbourne Red M sport in Colorado!

Whalen Shift Machine. Unfortunately they are no longer making them. I was lucky enough to buy a few before they shut down the business. They are 18 oz of stainless steel with a neat compressor fitting type locking system.

Love a big grippy knob but do you cook your palm everyday during the summer?
My GTI had a satin steel ring around its knob and I always had to drape a cloth over it during the summer so I didn't burn myself. |

It took me 6 months to find my car in 2016, ended up having it shipped from VA to CT.

I wanted RWD, 6-Cyl, and 6MT. Stumbled on this beauty. It just called to me.

Not sure you manny drivers know you can code the 'gear' so instead of just showing up and down arrows and telling you what gear you should be in, it tells you both the gear you're in and the gear it wants you to be in.
There's a thread about it...this is what you get. (I used Bimmercode)

My GTI had the shift indicator and it drove me nuts. It was set to max economy and usually wanted me to keep the RPM's so low the engine would lug. I learned to ignore it.

Idk, that stuff never bothered me much. I've def hung out in 5th gear on the highway and not notice it until I glanced down at the dash so it has been helpful IMO. Around town, you choose the gear that best works. But I see no reason why I can't be in 6th gear going 45 down a long suburbs stretch either. |
