I agree, you should at least check out the silver one. I’m sure that dealership sells extended warranties, too. The PenFed warranty that would apply to this car is 36 months/36k mile so it would last until 130,692 miles.
Thank you for the info, I'll have to check it out. I just would find myself burning the miles within a year and a half. I drove my 328 from 64,000 to now 133,000 within 3 and 1/2 years of owning

I wish I could help, but in the end used cars are overpriced nowadays. Just look at Autotrader and you will confirm the price range.
I bought my car CPO 2017 last year... For my surprise dealers are asking today the same as they were asking one year ago for the same 2017.
Therefore same amount for a year older car and less one year under CPO warranty.
Quite frankly, unless you wrench your car yourself, I would never buy a BMW 90,000 miles... sorry but you asked for opinion in this democratic forum, so here is mine. Good luck is my best wish.

What is your budget? What is the most you can spend? Are you going to pay cash or finance? If financing what payment are you comfortable with? Would you consider a 320i xDrive? That would open up a lot of lower mileage, newer cars to you.

Edit: I kind of forgot you were coming out of an E90 328i. I still think a 320i xDrive might satisfy you. You might want to test drive one.

I’ll bet this will be out of the price range you’re comfortable with, but here is a Sport pkg 320i xDrive that is a CPO. It is in Michigan. It has about six months of new car warranty left and then one additional year of CPO warranty. BMW Financial Services is offering 0.9% for 36 months and 1.9% for either 48 or 60 months. https://www.erhardbmwoffarmingtonhil...cpo.bmwusa.com

You can get these answers when looking sites like Autotrader, Cars, etc, then even going Carvana and others.
Another source is the BMW website showing what their dealers have for sale, and respective prices for used BMW in general (CPO and not).
Both websites you can change ZIP code and you will be able to confirm how it affects price for different zones.

I will say that I just took a look again...granted, there aren't a lot of xDrive cars for sale near me right now...but prices are not what they were a few months ago.

If you can, it might be worth your wait to let things calm down a little before signing anything. Hard to do when you've got the new car itch though, I can relate.

Looking around and I came across this one in Columbus, Ohio. It’s a 2016 LCI/facelifted, which mostly means it has an N20 motor you shouldn’t have to worry about regarding timing chain guide failure. And it has only 70k miles. https://www.autoboutiqueohio.com/veh...oh-id-41362388

The one in Columbus looks a little rough. You’re going to hate the headlights on it eventually.

Used car prices do suck. I traded in my ‘18 430 F33 with 73k miles. They offered me $25k. Which was fine since it was almost paid off. But they’re trying to sell it for $33k! It’s been sitting on their lot for almost 3 months now. Lol

Here’s a couple of 2017 330i xDrive. They are relatively close to you.

I realize these are priced a little higher than what you were looking at, but the B46/48 motor is a much better motor than the N20/26. And they’re relatively low mileage.

Anyway, for what it’s worth. Just some ideas.

To be honest, i have about 5.5 saved and a trade in I'm thinking worth about 3.7-4.5 and I'd need to take a loan out for the rest, overall budget would be max 16k with a warranty

I appreciate everybody's help in this! You guys are awesome and a lot more responsive than the e90 forums. I am going to take a look at a few that were sent within her this weekend.

Happy hunting. Good luck with your search. Be sure to update us.

Here’s a really good payment calculator. http://bretwhissel.net/amortization/amortize.html

just fyi - 3.00% for 60 months is $18/1000. Makes it easy to estimate a payment. e.g. $9,000 loan is 9 x 18 = $162/month

I’d say probably 20% more than they were in January when I was looking...

Using CarMax as an example, only three nationwide fit your search (xDrive 3 series, $16k ceiling)...and obviously the 2011 is out since you’re looking for an update. Neither are really a good deal.

Kind of representative of what you’re likely to find though...either lower spec’d models that are right in the middle in terms of age and miles, or better equipped ones that go up in age and miles as more features are added.

A few months ago, the same search would have provided a 320i a year or two newer and with 10k fewer miles, and a slightly larger improvement in the better spec’d 328/330 models.

If you like turning your own wrench, the higher miles shouldn’t worry you as long as the car comes with a good maintenance history. As others have said, with the N series motor the timing chain history is also critical, if the proper replacement has been done already you’re in the clear. If not, that’s a pretty pricey job you should plan on doing as soon as possible after buying it. That’s the ‘right now’ option I would take as I don’t mind getting in there and cussing at it for a weekend. Otherwise, the newest, lowest mileage unit you can find is a smarter buy. But you never really feel satisfied with a car you had to settle for.

Of the three tturedraider posted earlier, I agree that the third silver one looks very nice and is probably one of the better buys to be found now, especially with the better engine.

Typically, in my area, engine size and features command a premium. AWD at best makes no difference but usually will actually decrease the price. Right now it doesn’t seem to matter. As things calm down, those steals will start to pop up again.

How long do you want to wait? I think it could easily be 6 - 9 months. Summer is the high demand season.

To be perfectly honest, and I’m just speculating, I have a feeling cars in the price range where you are probably aren’t affected as much as the newer, more expensive cars.

I believe PA is a SULEV warranty state? Definitely keep an eye out for a SULEV engine.

Ah gotcha, my worry is my inspection is coming up 06/20 which is gonna be 1,200 for suspension work which I'd rather avoid and just get a newer car

I sure understand how money can be. There’s not a whole lot of difference in asking price between that 2013 higher mileage silver 328i and the 2017 lower mileage silver 330i. But it might be a little too much.
