Project M3 (F30, 316i)
Hello guys,
First time posting here, Im a F30 316i 2014 owner recently bought and as you can tell I am looking forward in the next couple of months to turn this F30 into an F80 M3 stay tuned to see the final product of the car!!! Obviously, I had made couples of changes as you can see, changed the grill, tinted the lights and currently waiting to install this rear spoiler. |

What is the plan? Are you buying a crashed F80 and transplanting everything in your car???
Are you doing the work yourself? Pretty big endeavor.

I hope it's not another "Can't afford an M3 but I'm gonna make it look like one" projects...

I suspect this will be another cosmetics only wannabe. Why else would you start with the base model |

Would be interested in seeing the final outcome.
M3 specific rear diffuser + exhaust would be essential for the project to be visually satisfying. Incidentally, what is your budget for the cosmetic makeover? |

There was zero specifics, I also assumed that it was a cosmetic build, but wanted to give OP the benefit of the doubt.

Personally, I would just get aftermarket wheels, maybe change the front bumper to msport type and get a lip, lower the car, get the regular FBO for this engine and be done.

The plan is to get an M3 style bodykit (replacing the standard bumpers) add a lip, sideskirts, a rear difusser, exhaust conversion like the m3 and obviously lower the car with a remap later on.
Also as someone just said it very hard to get close to the M3 Performance standards, I am only trying to make it look like M3 not really bothered performance wise UPDATE: I have added the Carbon Fiber Mirrors with the M4 style alloys and rear spoiler. I am really happy with the results tbh. |

So as most suspected, just a cosmetic thing. And it's a given that you'll never come close to m3 performance with the engine that's under the hood of the basest of base models.

Shhh, don't tell the OP but his steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car. No way he gets it to look like an M3 now. ;-)

Looks good. Besides the aesthetics, upgrade parts and get a tune for whatever is available for your car. It won't make it a lot more powerful but it'll last longer and at least be a little quicker.

Have you every thought of learning how to hold a camera straight, so not EVERY picture is crooked and out of frame?
If your picture taking is indicative of the workmanship to create this poser car, well.... |
