Best obd2 scanner

Hi Folks - Looking to get an OBD2 Scanner that I can use for my 16 BMW and Cayenne without breaking the bank. I just learnt that you need a scanner to reset the oil change intervel in cayenne, and some video suggested Launch. Not sure if thats good, or if theres a cheaper one that you guys would recommend that could use for both the cars. As always your inputs are greatly appreciated.

Lots of previous threads on this topic including discussions of hardware scanners v. bluetooth/phone-based tools. Search is your friend.

Quick answer is...

This is a proven tool that works well with the F30. Some would say the "best value option."

I just bought it and can confirm it works great and has a good build quality also. Haven't used nearly all functions yet (and maybe never will) but it connects to my car quickly, auto reads the VIN and is easily navigable from there.

The Foxwell NT-530 (the latest model) is a good choice. To support both Makes (BMW + Porsche) you’ll need to buy a second Model Authorization for it. They come off-the-shelf as either-or. So buy the BMW one and add the Porsche support to it.

FWIW, I just bought the Foxwell NT510 and it has worked well so far. Updating the software is less than intuitive but once you get it going, it def does the job.

I also recommend the Foxwell, either NT-510 or 530.

Foxwell or NOT

I currently have the Foxwell BMW 510 - and looking at the Autel MK808 from JBTools.com
.
.
Launch is a good unit for sure & I would rank better than Foxwell but it all depends on which model you are looking at.

I am considering launch crp129x. Foxwell NT 530 with 2 cars is about the same price as launch.

Have the NT-530, used it yesterday to clear PDC codes on an E84 X1 after repairing.

FWIW, I've been happy overall with the MK808, for both a bunch of E90s I work on, as well as my E83 and the "F-model" cars. it's nice to have a scanner that can do "advanced" features on whatever else shows up as well (the GF's AllTrack, my father's Tacoma, etc.)
