Nah, truly doubtful at this point. There's other options but those pistons would surely take a beating which is why I've opted for other routes.

Question

Hi,


I own F10 528i, and yesterday I installed the Dinan Big Turbo, it took me few hours to install, compare to the stock the turbo wheel looks little bigger and it turns easier than the stock. My car has 123000km on it. At the same time I installed Wagner intercooler. After installing took it for short drive just to break in, went back to the garage to check if any leaks, and everything turns out fine. Took it again for long hard drive, first impression at low end i can feel I lost few torque and once the turbo hits the car pulls all the way to the red line, BUT not the way that I expected it to be. I have JB4 on Map 2, ethanol, charge and boost pipes, AFE Magnum intake, Catless DP, so I thought with all these mods, the car should drive a lot better. I let my friend that has F30 328 with few mods without telling him that I have upgraded the turbo, and he said it drives almost like stock 535i He told me that I should upgrade my rear muffler, because of my DP is free flow, the exhaust gas gets bottleneck at the rear muffler, I dont know if its that true.

Would think you should be using DINAN software to maximize the benefit of adding their big turbo.

BM3 with a custom will net you the same if not more benefits over theirs (as long as the tuner is a good one). Upgraded turbos for us has to do with a higher flow rate up top and just depends if the DME sees that or not.
