Unfortunately, the headlight units from a F20.F21 are different models to F30 and you are correct the do dim but that's not coding and I think it's only F20 with adaptive LED. They will use TMS

If it works on my '17 F25, then you should be able to work it out. Use the second post which codes TMS modules, that's what you should have if you have LED angel eyes.

Hi,
I can't find either FLE or TMS ECU's in my 2016 F26 X4. Does that mean dimming DRL's with turn signals isn't doable? Cheerz |

Unfortunately, this thread is for FXX series with LED only. There may be a way to do the same on cars with Xenon but that will be done in the FEM module and I'm not sure anyone has tried this yet.

I did some digging and found that StandlichtModus1 does not matter at all. StandlichtModus2 does the setting for both extremes of the light switch (All the way to the left & all the way to the right).
I'm trying to figure out how to get my angel eyes to soft on, can we be sure that the other variables are for timeOn and timeOff? It's the last thing my car needs before I can honestly say I've coded everything |

Well, looks like I confirmed it tonight by screwing around with it.
At least for Welcome Lights 1, I changed the timeOn and timeOff for the angel eyes to 64, which means they take 10 seconds to fully illuminate (Hex 64 = Decimal 100). I'm going to experiment in the coming days with values that get close to the "soft_on_led" timing in the FRM module that controls the other lights. I'm also going to try and figure out a ramping soft on/off when we program the turn signal DRL dim... I think it's possible but it's going to take a greater understanding of how timeOn and timeOff interact between modes. All in all I'm super excited as this has been a need of mine for 10+ months. SATISFIED. |

No, they also dim with xenon headlights... strange why BMW did not put this on F30/F31...

Did some more digging. The timeOn and timeOff values for Tagfahrlicht can be adjusted so that when you enable/disable angel eyes, they dim slowly rather than instantly. This also affects when low beams are turned on and controls the dimming, I think it's because Tagfahrlicht has such a high priority (23 hex) that it takes precedence over everything else.
Still can't figure out how to make the angel eyes dim slowly on Blinken... If anyone has insights I'd love to hear them. |

I've not really tried those values but just thinking of some options that may work, if you are just modifying the existing ones. Try using small values in the TimeOn and TimeOff values and also the RampType may also influence speed too (Again small values) I assumed that priorities worked the other way round, the lower the number the higher the priority (on LCI with FLE modules)

It may be possible to code using Bimmercode but it would be much easier using Esys to follow the instructions in this thread.

I had a F21 today with Xenon, the function of dimming while turn signals was available on this model!
There is NO TMS ECU. 2014, F21. If someone has the patient, and want to search for answers. I can upload the file. I just can't find it.... Tried everything.. Even compared but can't seem to find it. |

I also have to ask now.
My F30 LCI from 07/2015 (german car) with adaptive LEDs has some other values. I have both FLE ecus and cafd CAFD_000024C3… LM_ID_LT01 F020Wert = 01 LM01 ? LM_ID_LT02 F020Wert = 02 LM02 ? LM_ID_LT03 F030Wert = 03 LM03 ? LM_ID_LT04 F020Wert = 00 LM_ID_LT05 F020Wert = 05 LM_ID_LT06 F020Wert = 06 LM_ID_LT07 F020Wert = 07 LM07 ? LM_ID_LT08 F020Wert = 08 LM08 ? LM_ID_LT09 F020Wert = 00 LM_ID_LT10 F020Wert = 00 BLINKEN_Idx F030Wert Werte=03, 03, 03, 03, 03, 03, 03, 0F, 03, 03 BLINKEN_PO_Idx F030Wert Werte=03, 03, 03, 03, 03, 03, 03, 0F, 03, 03 Also i don’t find LM01 value. Next to the LM_ID_LT01-10 i only find LM01_Name. What should i have to code? |

Without seeing the CADF or NCD file it's difficult to say exactly but it should be possible.

Code:
https://mega.nz/#!OQwnTCzD!scF4vLNvqPBiEZUbvAcl9fblpvulKltTmOfugMJ9RrI I already tried "Depedency and PWM2" codings, didn't do anything. So I assume it's more than that. |
