Hi Guru's!
I have a new 335d saloon and I would like to know what gear I'm in when in standard 'D' driving mode. I can see it on sport mode (S3 for example) but I would like to see 'D3' when regular driving...Is this possible through coding?
If so, what is the info to carry it out please?

No. Newer PSdZData adds nothing. The features available to your are based on the the software on the car, not the software you use to interface with the car. The only way to possibly get newer features is to program the car and flash new firmware onto the ECU's. You update your PSdZData out of necessity, when the car has newer software on it then you have for coding it, not for benefit.

my buddy wants me to do some coding for his 2014 3 series.

I am assuming I have to update my PSdZData.....if I do....would I be able to go back and do coding to my car? would coding my car with the newer data cause a mess?

Newer versions of the PSdZData are backwards compatible with older firmware.

Upgrading to a newer PSdZData will not affect your ability to code your car with older firmware.

If I go direct to editors and viewers I get C:\data\FA\falistsample.xml but can't find anything relating to entwicklungsbaureihe=f20 which is what I assume I need for the f30?

tried the above. Step 3 check VIN is fake and FSC are still "accepted"...

I am trying to change FA VIN and FDL code HU-NBT but encountered error during cddeploy... should I disable VCM and MSM update?

Yeah, I think I had to name the file, I think I called it f30.xml but whatever I did I seems to work as I can now stream music via Bluetooth, I just need to figure out how to get text msg's to work as I can't see any options in office???

Make sure that your phone has Bluetooth MAP Profile enabled in order to get office messages.

Hmmm, for some reason I can no longer get my emails through connected drive, I can't log in to Facebook, suspect iPhone issue.

Where are the settings for MAP profile :s the only messages I can display are the ones I sent via bmw remote, I have sent an email through connected but can't receive, inbox says (0) any thoughts

There are no Head Unit settings for MAP. Enabling MAP and any associated MAP settings are on the phone, and it varies by phone model.

How did you write VIN to NBT?

I did it this way.
Connect
Diag Addr > 0x63
Hit Identify > Base Var > HU_nbt
All other fields are blank.
Add WriteDataByIdentifierVIN to the right window
Hit Start
The window for manual VIN input will appear.
Input the fake LONG VIN with capital letters.

Remove WriteDataByIdentifierVIN from the right window
Add ReadDataByIdentifierVIN to the right window
Hit Start
Check fake VIN in Log window

Coding table



Reboot the NBT.
Wait a few minutes before check FSC status. (Navi should stop work).

If one has only HBA and no SLI or LDW, then they have FLA ECU and not KAFAS, and it cannot be coded for SLI and / or LDW.

If one has KAFAS ECU, it should be capable of being coded to do SLI, LDW, and or HBA; however, SLI also requires a 7E FSC Enabling Code before it can work, and LDW will work, however it will not vibrate the steering wheel unless the Vibrator is retrofitted in the Steering Wheel.

I did exactly the steps you mentioned. In fact the VIN has been written into HU-NBT because when I checked FSC status, the VIN appeared.



But the funny thing was all my FSC certs were still valid even though I waited for hours. I can still use my navigation, voice control....etc. Nothing was rejected.

Can I downgrade the NBT back to previous firmware so that I can continue to use BMW online?

Are you using an emulator on a retrofitted NBT as well?

No I am not using emulator. I have purchased the oem FSC.

Maybe that doesn't work with OEM FSCs...

BTW, how to I check whether I have emulator other than take out the unit? is there a way to verify?

But I have actually purchased codes for 6NR and 620 and installed it myself. When I bought the FSC codes, the seller did send me all my FSC codes inclusive of my navigation.... plus all the old certs as well.
