Thx,
Looks much better now. Very happy with the adjustment! Overall, it looks like it was raised 1/2 an inch to 3/4 of an inch. I'll post up some pics later.

Interesting. I haven't examined it that closely. Do you think that this is an adequate, sturdy solution?

I asked them, and its backed by a warranty, they said their "master tech wouldn't suggest and/or do something that would compromise anything to the longevity of the product"...it's all done now anyhow, so no turning back for me...I'm just wondering if they did the same for you and didn't tell you?

with the sun out tmrw, I'll get under and snap some pics..

here's a pic with the "newly" aligned tips...much better, gap looks OEM now:

and the tab doesn't look like it was even bent, unsure what they did:

all is good now...

Looks great! A definite improvement. You're right about the gap looking OEM now.

Here is my M Performance Exhaust, post-adjustment:

Haha I would! Doesn't it look so much better?

Those aren't the greatest pics I took but I compared the gap (using the old finger width test) between between the rear diffuser and exhaust tips on my car (post-adjustment) to an F30 with the OEM system and it's now virtually identical.

I got mine installed this week. Its a little louder when you stand behind the car but it sounds almost identical compare to stock inside of my car IMO.
I only managed to put 30km on it and I hope it gets a bit louder after more driving.

the old performance exhaust it's much louder. the m performance now it's not much louder than the stock exhaust for me it's not the best thing.

Ive been saying this the whole time. The fit is not very oem for an oem poduct... Sticks out too far and hangs too low and I keep getting crapped on for bringing it up (naturally mostly from those who own it). Im glad someone noticed that and did some adjustments...looks 10x better!

Now the sound...for me, only marginally better. Let's get some downpipes released on these so they can really sing!

If you were the one that pointed out the fact to me that it was hanging too low initially, then you are the one that convinced me to take a closer look. Many thanks for the constructive input.

Upon closer inspection (which actually involved looking at the exhaust from distance), the system simply did hang too low.

I couldn't be happier with the fitment now. Looks better than OEM from every angle. I also much prefer the larger diameter, hard chromed, thin tips over the thicker, brushed chrome OEM tips.

I agree on the overhang. But I think it depends on who installs the exhaust. This plays a factor in how much the tips will stick out, you have to cut the OEM exhaust and clamp on the M performance muffler. If they dont cut at the correct spot it sticks out simple as that. When I do mine Im going to align the M performance muffler 1st and make my marking and saw away. Ill post pics of the process.

Dealers dont care. They slice, they clamp, and you pay $1370 installed and off you go. Just a number to them.

what's the point of have the M// on the tips if you can't see it, lol?
tell the dealer, like I did, you want it sticking out just enough to notice it...

My understanding is that VPC installed accessories were not residualized - that they only add to the sale price not the residual price. Ie, you pay 100% of the cost of them over the lease term.

Please let me know if you are certain they added to your residual cost as well - that'd be great.

100% certain. 400 gets residualized. so in my case 935 went into the lease

What did you do exactly. My tips hang low and besides the fact that I noticed annoyed of everyone else who sees the car also asking. They used rubber hangars that look like they are stretched a little bit.

I took it back to the dealer and complained...in essence, you need to loosen the clamp, and realign (if you did it yourself)...

Thinking about getting this...any recent opinions on the sound? A few have said it barely sounds different. I had the PPK installed as well. My question is....do they have to do any extra coding (perhaps due to both flaps opening on start-up or something)....or no? I hope they DON'T have to recode anything. Also, what are the thoughts on the longevity of this system vs original factory system? Is the rubber clamp going to be a premature wear item?

Back in the day we "tightened" the exhaust clamps with a hose clamp. I wonder if this would work here. I installed mine tonight and it definitely needs to be raised an inch or so.
