3 Series, 3 Series Sports Wagon and 3 Series Gran Turismo:
Navigation on 3 Series Sedan, Sport Wagon and Gran Turismo models is now iDrive 4.2 which includes a new iDrive rotary controller with integrated touchpad.

For MY 2014, the following features are made standard:
  • Sport leather steering wheel
  • Dark Burl Walnut wood trim

xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive is available on the 320i, 328i and 335i

A 6-speed manual transmission is available as a no cost option in the 320i, 328i, 335i and 335i xDrive models.

As of MY 2014, the Modern Line is discontinued. The Line offer will now consist of Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport. Other Line changes include:

328d and 328d xDrive:
Starting production in July 2013 and available for sale upon arrival, the 328d Sedan is the latest addition to the Diesel line-up that BMW has launched in North America. For the first time in the US, the 3 Series is offered with a 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo Diesel engine.

This 2.0 liter engine (N47) puts out 180 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque available from 1,750 rpm. The combination of the TwinPower Turbo Diesel engine, 8-speed automatic transmission and the BMW EfficientDynamics program – including but not limited to Auto-Start Stop, Brake Energy Regeneration and optimized aerodynamics – allows the 328d Sedan to return up to 45 estimated mpg highway (328d xDrive up to 40 estimated mpg highway).

Compared to the 328i, the 328d Sedan differentiates itself through its:
  • Badging
  • Single chromed exhaust pipe with fitted rear-bumper

  • Dark Burl Walnut wood trim
  • BMW Assist eCall
  • BMW TeleServices

Active-Hybrid 3:

BMW TeleServices and BMW eCall are optional on this model for MY14. Both options will be offered in combination with the optional Navigation System (609) and Technology Package (ZTP).

3 Series Sports Wagon
The 3 Series Sports Wagon is available as a 328i xDrive or a 328d xDrive with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

3 Series Gran Turismo
The 3 Series Sports Wagon is available as a 328i xDrive or a 335i xDrive with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

3 Series Coupe and Convertible
There won’t be a 2014 3 Series Coupe and Convertible in the US market, production of the 3 Series Coupe ends in June 2013 while the 3 Series Convertible will be produced until October 2013.

Figured BMW would drop the modern line. I haven't seen one in the GTA since the F30 was launched. I'm still not totally on board with these lines, would prefer to option a base model up, but glad that BMW made an adjustment.

So the GT is only available as an xi, and no option for a stick shift? Wasn't really considering one, but figured if I can't get a wagon without xi and with a stick, the GT might be worth a look.

I believe this is actually the 320d. The 325d has (or had) a 215hp version of the N47 engine.

Still no hydraulic steering option

Can dream I guess, don't know why they ever changed; the 320d ED is no more efficient in f30 guise than the former e90

Looking at this it doesn't seem there's any indication of a 328d RWD option. Are those model/drive train changes announced separately, or do people anticipate that we simply won't get a RWD option on the wagon in the US?

328d is avalible in rwd or awd. Just the 328d estate is awd only. Imo this is logical, will compete well in the Northeast where wagons sell in greater numbers and for outdoor types that want the wagon will probably want awd.

Personally, the best pic of the bunch (for me) is the 328d xdrive estate. Make mine an Msport in black sapphire!

My bad. Meant to say the 328d estate/wagon. It's too bad it takes such a mileage hit over the RWD version.

I'm in Boston. I was seriously considering F31 as my next car until I learned that it would be AWD only.

Why would you get a 328 msport? Just go for the 335.

Just picked up my 335 sport line in Munich as part of ED. The ASS reverts to the last setting used when re-starting. It's nice not to have to manually shut it off every time. The car is fantastic and I'm coming from an E90.
