Smile New Member and New Car!

Hi everyone. First post here and happy to say I just put down a deposit to have my Sapphire Black 2018 340i xdrive Msport built in Germany. Est. arrival is mid Sept....Kept it simple with the only options being a manual transmission, heated steering wheel, heated seats and orbit grey 19in wheels. Although my wife owned an e90 gen 328 I've never had a BMW and I'm looking forward to the experience. I thought about it a long time before pulling the trigger and I cannot wait!!

I just did the other day, so apparently yes lol. I'm actually happy about that as I have a feeling the new revamp will ruin the looks of the car.

It was my understanding that you can the 3 series for another month or two because the pending changeover lengthened the production cycle. I'm pretty sure that the BMWUSA site still pulls up the 2018 year model on the 3 series as well when you do a "Build your Own".

It does...when I built the car with the salesperson the site has no 2019 option for the 3

Congrats and welcome! The wait while they build it is tough but worth it to get exactly what you want.

It's time to fish or cut bait for a 6MT 3 series

I'm in the same boat on "what to do".

No 6MTs in the new G20 3 series and the 2019 Audi A4s.

Love my X3M40i.....miss my little 2016 228i 6MT shifter except for the 2 doors.

What to do ?

The 340 is quick AF and paired with the 6 spd nothing on the market compares in that price range. Not much time to dilly dally, if you know you want stick I would pull the trigger. Unless of course you want to go used, then you have some options.

Regardless of the rumors, I'm going to risk it and wait for the G20 and pray it is available with a stick. If not, there's at least a decent chance the M3 will have one.

The new G20 M340i is going to be quite a bit better overall than the F30 340i. Mechanical LSD, much more power, lighter weight, and hopefully better LED headlights (the current ones are fairly dim). I'll just risk it and hope the G20 comes with a stick, as unlikely as it is. A low option M3 will be my backup plan.

Hey man, if you got the funds for the M3 thats fantastic so at least you have an out. I had to stay within my budget so couldn't really consider the M....not to mention I wanted AWD.
