I am saying with CIC, the GNDB only works for DVD's played in car, not USB Audio, Streaming Audio, etc.

Ah. You mean audio CDs and DVDs. Yes, quite a glaring omission on BMWs part.

Hello, perhaps anyone can help. I've got F30 and g01 (I am in europe). I have just updated Gracenote-DB 21-2 for NBT-EVO 07/2021 Europe all fine on F30 but having issues with my G01. On G01 installation starts and then it stops on it's own with the message: Installation aborted. I've tried g01 few times, sometimes it goes to 4%, 7% or 15% in terms of the installation progress and then it stops on it's own with the message: Installation aborted. F30 has had EVO retrofitted, G01 is still on warranty. G01 current DB is 3 - 02/18. Why one car would go fine and second one aborts the installation on it's own? Has anyone seen that before? (I have tried 6 different usb sticks already).

Perhaps someone can share Gracenote DB Europe 02-2018 for EVO so I Can can try that first to attempted staged upgrade?

I'm still discovering these "hidden" functions of my 2014 F31 328i: Gracenote.
With the "Pro" sound installation (no Hifi of HK) I have the following behavior: with a USB drive connected to the armrest (no internal HDD I think) if I play a directory of FLAC files I am normally able to see only the folder.jpg file. But with some songs I have the very precise artwork of the song itself. But it's impossible with FLAC files (and this artwork is not even stored in the FLAC file).
My question is: does this artwork come from the Gracenote Database?

I have no idea if it is from GNDB or if Artwork is embedded in FLAC file.

shawnsheridan: I know that it's not embedded. I checked with Foobar2000, MP3Tag, ... the picture shown in the car (very low resolution by the way) is NOT in the file.
And it took a few seconds for the picture to be displayed. With embedded pictures it's faster.

Ok, then its GNDB, and it has Artwork for some songs and not others.

So GNDB prints artwork for FLAC even if a folder.jpg file is présent.
So be it!
Do you know if it does the same with MP3: print GNDB artwork even if a picture is embedded in the MP3 File?

It should be same for .mp3.
