Everyone has their demons....his were just much more in the limelight due to who he was. He had an affinity with and was at one with the ball at his feet....pure natural talent.

As for the 'hand of God' , no different to the diving that blatantly occurs and occasions where we've been the beneficiary of an rules violation.
