**PSA: F31 Touring production data is up for North America**
Just a heads up for anyone curious about their out of production BMWs, moderator Sickfinga over on this forum provides production stats for free -----> http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157862
You will simply need to post the last seven of your VIN within the thread. Do not PM him as he will not provide you the info through that route. Other than providing how rare (or common) a specific combination may be, he also provides the most rare option for the model at hand. Here are the specs of my Individual wagon and since we're here, I might as well post some obligatory pics of it. "1 - 2017-2019 BMW 330i xDrive Automatic (8K33) - NA painted in Champagne Quartz Metallic (X08) with Coral Red Dakota Leather with Black highlight (LCL5) interior was built for the US market. None were built for the Canadian market. The most rare option in this car is the option S4M5A - Individual leather-covered dashboard. It was installed on 2 out of 4,147 cars. The second most rare in this car is the option S5DCA - Rear-seat headrests, folding. It was installed on 9 out of 4,147 cars. There are only 2 Champagne Quartz Metallic F31s in US/Canada. The second car is a 2016 328d xDrive and it's in Canada." The day I picked it up from the dealer: Individual leather dashboard goodness. It extends down to the glovebox and driver's knee areas. Well worth the $950 special order cost. I'm surprised at how rare it is. Apparently only two F31s in North America with the 4M5 leather dash?? Gotta have factory side window blinds mayn. They roll right into the door panels when not in use. Another must add option! Another must-add option, 5DC folding rear headrests for just $60. Why was this not on the US configurator? BMW doesn't make any sense. They look so much better than just the center one folding and they also provide that extra bit of rear-view visibility. Had to cop the OE M Performance rear diffuser and OE black chrome tips: Such a dynamic color, especially in bright light. It needs to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. I chose the color sight unseen, just based on web images and I can safely say I have no regrets. Convertible seat for my lil' man:

Wow, excellent build. The leather covered dash fixes one of the cheapest looking parts of the car. Does it cover the lower dash in leather as well?

I really wish the F3x had options for soft close doors and ventilated seats too.

I've also thought about Blackline tails (like a darker red) simply for the Euro amber turn signals. These are not the M-Performance variant which I do not like. C-tek charging port/comfort indicator added for when the car doesn't get driven much:

Thanks fellas! Jim, your F31 build is on another level with that interior. I think it's safe to say that yours is a 1 of 1 for sure as well =)
Happy motoring to all!

MY GODDDDDD.
WOW. I've been a complete sucker for CQ since the early F80 days, but THIS??? Takes the absolute cake for one of the greatest cars I've ever seen in this color. You completely shut the F31 game down with this one and its bespoke options. I know that's not the exact word to use, but It is to me, and to the US. WELL DONE SIR!!

I'm still loving this wagon, little four-banger and all which is plenty for a daily driver in this Bay Area/Silicon Valley traffic. Good luck on your search and hope you can land the perfect wagon as well!

I didnt realize that would be a difficult request for the provider. I did some research a while back, looks like there were 1,340 2016 328d wagons built for the US and Canada. Be nice to know what the other years look like. |

When he replied to my vin check he gave a single option breakdown for 2016-2018 328d he quoted a total of 2781. http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/show...postcount=2726 For another poster he gave another option breakdown for 2014-2015 328d and quoted a total production of 3758. http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/show...postcount=2714 For the op of this thread he quoted 2017-2019 330i a total of 4147. http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/show...postcount=2716 For 2014-2015 328i he quoted a total production of 5282 http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/show...postcount=2733 2016 328i total production of 1597. http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/show...postcount=2830 So basically you can piece some of it together in terms of total production for the F31: 2014-2015 328i - 5282 2016 only 328i - 1597 2017-2019 330i - 4147 2014-2015 328d - 3758 2016-2018 328d - 2781 These are extremely low production numbers and just goes to show how rare these cars really are. Let's compare to put it in perspective. The Z3 E36/7 M Roadster NA totals: S52 Engines: 8,938 produced from 02/98 through 07/2000 S54 Engines: 1,565 produced from 02/2001 through 05/2002 The Z3 E36/8 M Coupe NA totals: S52 Engines: 2,180 produced from 07/98 through 06/2000 S54 Engines: 678 produced from 02/2001 through 05/2002 The (S54 engine) Z4 E85 M Roadster NA totals: 3,041 produced from 02/2006 through 08/2008 The (S54 engine) Z4 E86 M Coupe NA Totals: 1,815 produced from 04/2006 through 08/2008 I'm not saying these are equivalent to M cars but just comparing production numbers that were handy. How often are you seeing Z3 (coupe or roadsters) and Z4 (coupe or roadsters) on the road either back in the day and now?

It was interesting, I just had him run my 2015 MG over black Msport. , apparently there were 93 other people of equally good taste in 2014-2015.

So of these, how many were MSport in each respective year?

Anyone know if he's still providing the info? I clicked the link but looks like he hasn't responded to the thread in 3-4 months. Would love to have this info.

Pretty sure that ship has sailed. He doesn't respond any longer and I believe that site is up for sale. I don't have access to that information though I wish I did.

Doing this I found that my E46 M3 AW/IR 6MT Coupe is 1 of 129 made for NA. (Source: http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/show...57862&page=101) I guess it makes sense why you only see 1-2 a year for sale. |
