335i AWE Exhaust + Mid-pipe 102mm Chrome tips

Starting a thread to put some videos and pictures up of this fantastic exhaust. Install will be tomorrow or Tuesday. I would do it myself but I come from a world of lifted trucks, and getting under a normal car on jack stands is just too claustrophobic for me.

Thanks to jeff@topgearsolutions and josh@awe for all their help.

Installed:

Have the same exhaust on my car paired with a catless dp and the sound is amazing. You won't be disappointed with the exhaust!

Thumbs up for the garage too that looks badass!

It's called Racedeck Free-flow. Had it for a couple years now and it's held up perfectly.

Does the diffuser have any issue with those 2 big tips?

When cold, mine are okay. They rub a little when hot, though.

I have the same exhaust with catless DP. Sounds awesome, drives even better.

My initial impressions:

Installation -
100% perfect fitment. No issues with 102mm tips & the diffuser. Still have a nice even space between the tips & diffuser.

Cold Start -
It's loud. Period. You can see now why the stock exhaust closes a pipe during cold starts. After the ~50sec of wastegate bypass, it's quiet enough to not disturb the neighbors. Until that point, you will probably get some looks. It really sounds awesome idling. If any of you are boat enthusiasts, it reminds me of an old V8 stingray with exhaust outlets just above the water.

Warm Start/driving lightly/highway crusing (<2500rpm) in comfort mode -
If you didn't know what it was like before, or just aren't the kind of person that pays attention, you wouldn't know it was an aftermarket exhaust. I drove my brother around at lunch time (not telling him I put a new exhaust on) and he didn't even mention it.

At the moment, it's a bit boomy around the 2750-3000rpm mark. The lightest touch of throttle around this range exhibits a sound louder than 3500-4000rpm. I believe this will quiet down as AWE mentions the exhaust needs time to settle and break in. Please send some input here if I'm losing my mind or missing something. No real burbling/crackling in comfort mode which is perfect for driving the wife around.

Sport/Sport+ and higher RPMs -
This thing sounds fantastic. Love it. All kinds of burbles and loud cracks on downshifts even without MPPK. On upshifts it sends out a very pleasant growl.

Overall I'm very happy. I know the MPE would have been too quiet for me now and am glad I went this route. I will allow the exhaust to settle a bit and provide another update.

No shit bout that garage--that is like a showroom floor. Really, maybe someone should start a look at my garage for my car thread. Unfortunately, I have nothing to show.
