Thanks for the feedback - the UK-spec 330e MSport has the cloth/Alcantara seats as standard, as far as I can tell, and my company doesn't let me change options unless I pay for them myself in full, upfront, so that is a bit of a drawback compared to the Merc.
I found a forum on the c350e on MBclub UK, which has 180 pages of C350e feedback (way too much to trawl through)! There do appear to be some problems with the Merc around batteries and corroding charging ports, but I guess you can expect things like that on a new model. Still mulling this over, as the BMW will almost certainly drive better, but miss out on toys as you suggest. Price wise they are about 4GBP a month different when you take all the factors I can think of into account, so in the end it comes to personal choice. That said, the 330e Sport trim is usefully cheaper, but without things like LED headlights and that lovely MSport steering wheel.

Ordered mine last week. 330e high exec option comes for free in NL as promo nowdays for the 330e (leather, LED lights, heated front seats, HiFi pack, DAB radio) and M-Sport (18" rims, m wheel, m brake calipers, m pedals, m exterior styling, m suspension). Only packs added manually was the parking pack and active cruise control. Car already comes with preheating / ventilation as it's a plug-in.
What made me decide? (Coming from a Tesla Model 3 Long Range btw). Quite easy - better feel of the car, still 0 emissions for my work/home commute, handling definitely on par with the Tesla model 3 (it's really good), acceleration very close to the Tesla, not quite there, but similar feeling due to the electric motor torque off the line. All in all - highly recommended. Oh and negotiated a pretty sweet lease, €698 all in, no down payments or anything. For Europe that's pretty good (please don't compare to USA lease rates). |

The alcantara interior is actually pretty good. And if you buy a BMW it's not mainly about mpg, is it? With an easy tune you will have 300+hp - it's not comparable to a Prius in any way expect both happens to be hybrids.

Is the traction battery bigger? What is your EV range? Is it a digital dash?

But it's still a BMW. It looks and drives like a BMW, and you can't Bootmod3 a Tesla or Prius. You can still get 300+ hp, but if you want, you can drive in EV mode for a while. And on mine, I just passed 200+ mpg for the first time. I won't end the tank that way, but so far I've gone 212 miles on just about 1 gallon of gas. A Prius can't do that and have 300+ hp.
