You will have better understanding after you taken trims off and look at the current wire loom.
ok thanks bud! Does it include the interior trim above the rear seat?
That one seems very difficult to remove.

And for the trims on the tailgate, does it just pop right out? coz I dont see
any screws

thx

I got a used pair of LCI rears recently, hoping to fit them sooner rather than later. However, the wires attached to the lighting units already were all cut. I was hoping if anyone could shed some light as to if I need new wires? Or if this is fixed up using the new LCI harness?

I have attached some pics of the wiring I am talking about.

Thanks in advance.

You will need LCI wire harnes from Dealers which will have all plugs etc with it so you can remove these wires with plugs .

You will need coding for taillights to work , outside lights are plug and play

Thank you! I'm getting this fit and coded by someone so don't want to be charged for unnecessarily. I'll just purchase the OEM harness set then

Is it a retrofit fit LCI harness that is required or is it just the same harness that comes in the LCI vehicle?

Is there any guide on how to install the new wiring harness? I can’t find the proper EBA and the harness is different from F32

I'm attempting to install the LCI lights and harness this weekend on a 440i F36.

Any tips on how to cable through to the Rear REM, looks tricky as it goes through into the headlining first.

To fit lights full tailgate wire has to be replaced with LCI one which was ballache to replace but after both index fingers and middles fingers scrapped and bleed then loom came out , took me 4 hours to fit lights and put all trims back to the car and 20mins coding with BimmerCode app which I used for first time.

Darth Helmut was big help gave me all the coding and supplied lights as well vey good price

Also fitted dual gloss black grills which also supplied by Darth Helmut .

Very good looking! I was hoping to find a tutorial for f36, but no luck... and even if i have all the coding tools and quite good handling i am still afraid of doing it myself. I don t know if the f32 turorial on youtube is accurate, and helping for the f36 harness, cause the cables aren t in the same place. Are the same as f32? Thanks

Finding my LCI lights was a struggle.

Found two outer lights on eBay for £80 which were luckily unmarked.

Couldn't find a set of inner tailgate lights second hand so bought them direct from BMW Kirkcaldy - £315 for the pair.

It's a minefield with breaker yards selling parts that are scratched, chipped, wiring cut and mounting points damaged.

Hi F36 can you help me out I'm trying to take the trim of my f36 but there are two bolts on each side of the trim which I need to remove but they don't seem to turn and the nuts just seem to wear out very easily? Any help on the trim removal?

I used these guides to remove all tailgate trims.

It's strange, but whenever I see a F32/6 now I prefer the pre-LCI lights to the LCI version. To me the rear looks purer with the original lights, the LCI adds unneeded busyness to the corners.

You'll need to remove a trim section from the D pillar (right hand side) and drop the corner of the headlining in order to route the indicator cables from the tailgate into the REM.

See links below.

I never had any issues removing that screw. It might have been over tightened in the past. Can you not use pliers to pull and turn at the same time so it grips the thread and starts backing out.
