Do I need to Code to close side mirrors?

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section, but how do I close my side mirrors automatically when I lock the car? I do see a small button on the door which will manually close them, but is there a way to do it automatically when I lock it using the FOB? Does it need to be coded?

Yep, that needs to be coded. Bimmercode is a good option for that.

Hold the Close-Button for 2-3 seconds and the mirrors will be fold in.
If you don't want to hold the button so long it has to be coded.

Sorry, but did you mean the lock button? I did try that, but they wont close. They do open and close if I press the button on the door handle. Also, they wont open when I unlock the car.

Yes, i meant the lock button.
Normally if you have the folding mirrors you can let them fold in with the hold of the lock button.
Do you happen to have a convertible?

If you close the mirrors by the button on the door handle they will open also only by this button or you drive above 30km/h.
If you close the mirrors by the lock button (if it would work) the mirrors open automatically when unlocking the car.

For some daft reason, cars in the US don't have that feature.
